I found it quite funny. By the sound, parents of non-attending boy didn't inform party-givers about him not coming. It's rude and party-givers wasted money on it. Send them an invoice: classic!

It's just a FaceBook row between 2 clueless middle-class yummy-mummy types (oh and the dad of course)

Not sure who thought it should be on the national news, really.

I can't see this winning in the small claims court

Firstly there was no contract nor any implied terms that a penalty would exist for the non compliance of said contract.

For the sake of £15, hardly worth becoming the weird mum in the playground who bills 'no shows'.

At my wedding, one person didn't turn up and the day cost £200 per head. Never crossed my mind to sue for not turning up. In fact the pianist's sister who came to keep her sister company took her place and she was by all accounts more entertaining than the guest that didn't turn up.

Perhaps the mother of the child felt her son has missed out on a £5 gift lol. Surprised that wasn't billed for as well!

    .

No its not - the Daily Mail has shown pictures of their houses, as is typical of their style, and it is council house versus detached house....class war or Hyacinth Bucket but not yummy mummy.

Yes, the story's all over the internet (it's even on an Australian news site) and the Daily Mail is the only one to show pictures of their houses.

But if you read the exchange between the two women it definitely reads more like 2 clueless middle-class mums than one hyacinth and one chav.

Accepting an invite, not turning up, not even bothering to contact the hosts and then moaning to the media.... that is a truly stunning lack of manners.

This. Incredibly rude - The invoice was harsh but not completely undeserved. Sad thing is, even this unsubtle hint was clearly not enough for the man to reflect on how rude he'd been to not show.

Not the point. What have they taught their son?

Well, it's the Daily Mail.. whether they've actually got the right people/houses/facts is anyone's guess.

That his parents are dimwits who can't handle an everyday social situation without going totally OTT?? :D
