I've been on the TPS for over a decade
I've had the same number for multiple decades
I get next to no spam calls - maybe one every 3 to 6 months.
Now I wonder why that is?0 -
my home phone is there only because of the internet , the phone is permanently unplugged , the cost of using a land line is now stupid
many yrs ago , my first mobile with "peoples phone" , one of the first PAYG calls were 50p a minute and a landline , even from a phone box was about 10p , look at it now ? on the 3 network I pay 3p a min , on landline about 14-16p connection charge then about 8p a min ,
its a joke0 -
Get a call blocker, From several calls a day i rarely get any now.
I had one the other day which is the first for months, 08458620256 claimed to be from some government agency offering solar panels. Asked if i was the home owner i said yes, Was i interested i said yes. But before they went on i said where will you fit the panels because i live on the 4th floor of a 10 story block of flats.
They said sorry we cannot and my number will be removed. Dont bother i press the block button which cuts them off and they cant ring back.
Call blocker cost £25 off ebay and stores upto 1000 numbers.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Fully agree with you Enfield Freddie. If only 3 Mobile had a better signal in rural areas. Call prices are indeed ridiculously priced from landlines these days unless you have the pretty much enforced calls package. Sorry to take this off topic.0

Another vote for BT8500 phones. They are brilliant. Not had a single call get through since I got mine and it has blocked/rejected loads.0

TPS is run by the Direct Marketing Association, self regulation doesn't work.
A few months ago the consumer magazine Which discovered that people registered with the TPS received twice as many unwanted calls as those not registered.
Correlation is not causation though - you're probably more likely to sign up to the TPS if you're already receiving unwanted calls. It doesn't follow that signing up to the TPS caused the unwanted calls, or increased them.0
