Eek congratulations! How lovely.0

Congrats Cinny! Boys are great, although the obsession with their dangly bits starts alarmingly early so be prepared to say 'Stop playing with that or it'll fall off!' about 10 times a day! :rotfl:
I did my plate course on Saturday and it was lovely! Made 2 plates from scratch and decorated 2 plates making my own stencils and stamps. The course had a few regulars on and I get the impression that it's quite addictive to keep booking onto more and more courses. In fact, I saw my manager's manager there doing a different craft and he said that he goes about twice a month! Must be nice to have the money and time to do so!

Congratulations Cinny - I could only imagine you with a little bruiser of a boy

Thanks everyone!
Sounds like it's all fun and games ahead, Birdie :rotfl: Have to admit, I was really hoping for a boy
I know it's all a case of "as long as they're healthy", but I think everyone gets a little image in their head of their ideal situation? Hooowever, if it was a girl she would have been called Piper
I thought the plates you did were great, Birdie! Loved the Tangled themed one
Crafty workshops are great but you're completely right about finding the time/money to do them. My big crafting goal would be to make american quilts, but when I looked into the cost of materials I decided I better take a course first so I don't fudge it up and...:eek: 0 -
Yeah, trust me to make a Tangled plate!
Everyone else was doing really fancy grown up designs and I sat and thought about what kind of design to do for ages then it just popped into my head so I had to go with it. No-one got it, they just thought I'd made a pretty sun so I let them believe that!
They're doing a course in November to learn to make a cocktail hat which I'd love but it's £75 and it's the Sunday after we get back from holiday so the odds are stacking up against me... but I wannnnnnna do it!

That's one good thing about using your youthfulness in those situations - people just think you're hella artsy and individual
The design did really fit the plate well though!
You could probably argue the cocktail hat course could be for Christmas?! Don't they do the course again later on in the year/again next year?
Off to London in my swishy not-maternity-but-big-enough-to-grow-in cape tomorrow! Hoping to keep it MSE and not spend too much other than travel + food, so we'll see how that pans out

Just realised I hadn't replied to you CMD . Girls are good, how are your two? I have bought a couple of bits but 'trying' not to go overboard this year as they will end up with loads anyway. Will be doubling up my tesco points to get some things in November.
Birdie - plates looked really good.
Cinny - enjoy London. What will you be getting up to?0 -
So glad the scan went well Cinny and you got what you were hoping for, I think most people have at least a small preference one way or another, although once they're here you love them or just who they are anyway. So it's a baby S - I thought Fox was the name you were going with for a boy? Can you pm/fb me your address again please, will be ecstatically sending you a big box of boy clothes once we're back from Center Parcs.
Worn out, Ben has started waking at between 1.30-2.15 every morning and then sobbing every half hour or so after that. Nothing seems to settle him, not milk, not the dummy, not cuddles, not coming into our bed, not getting up. Been going on a few weeks now and it's always me who gets up unless it's a Sunday night as I teach all Monday, the work from home stuff doesn't buy me a lie in! Grace at chocolate chefs this morning, left NIM and Ben in the house, I'm in Starbucks nursing an orange juice to use the wifi to get Quidco stuff done. There are a LOT of screaming, and I mean screaming children in here though so concentration is shot. Sadly laptop battery doesn't last for more than 20 minutes so can't go work outside.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
