Cheeky ways to get free wi-fi

If you're travelling & use a city's travel card, check if bus & trains are connected. If so, just jump on the nearest tram & when you're half way through your wi-fi browse, hop-off & go back.
If your travel card provides access to a free airport shuttle bus loop, it's worth trying to reimagine them as mobile wifi cafes, offering a 1 hour circular internet session from anywhere in town.0 -
i use premier inns all the time and they only give you 30mins free wifi, i always eat at the beefeaters next door and the wifi is totally free but this signal cannot be picked up from the premier inn a mere 30 yards away, is there any way my tablet/phone etc can bridge this gap as i spend more time (but less money) in the hotel room than in the restaurant.0

Just do a network search for the nearest network and piggyback on to it
There are plenty of free apps that automate the process for you.0 -
By far the cheapest and most secure and widespread Wifi is available through the FON network. If you are a BT customer you have access to this automatically but, if not, just buy a Fonera Simpl router for about £35, install it I. Your home alongside your broadband router, and hey presto you have access to all the BT Fon network. We have also used it in France, works a treat on the SFR network. It's brilliant and its legal. Just wander about until you hit a spot. It's pretty secure as you need to have a password. We travel about a lot with our Motorhome and it has never let us down.0

Premier Inn now offer free unlimited wi-fi, at a slow speed. Ultimate 'fast' wifi they charge for, but I've never found the need to upgrade...
Hope that helps.0 -

Basically Free WiFi is either free and requires no password or is free but requires a signup/ log in .A premises may get you to sign up or display the password on the menu .
SECURITY basically you do not use free WiFi when out and about to deal with banking etc .0
