  • PS: I have just created a mapped link to the folder in windows , it wont let me map the drive , just a folder , however this now shows on my network , along with other machines , as 192.168.1.6 , if I click on it , it shows all the directories , and allows me to create subfolders ,

    ok cheers , will be a couple of days before I can get a drive , it looks like my idea (with programme help from you) will work.


    googling shows ext3 and ext4 drives far exceeding what I need ,


    thinking: the nas drives are ext3 or 4 , and they are upto 4g or even 6g ,
    ext2/3/4 will be better in terms of performance for samba/cifs which openelec will be using, rather than NTFS/Fat(32)
