Where do we stand with landlord?

Ok so my bf rents a room in a home and I come over once a week and may stay the night. The landlady has never said no to this and seems finme for me to stay over for the night . However my bf and I had a row last night where he raised he voice yelling at me. It wasn't ultra loud but loud enough. Next minute the landlady husband and 30 year daughter burst in his room asking ifor I was ok and should they call the police. Obviously I was upset and so was my bf as of course all couples row now and then and no violence was involved . But now I'm worried they could evict him or say I can't come over and stay the odd night anymore. It just seemed something that got out of hand and my bf and I rarely have an argument.
I just wondered what my bf rights are for first privacy and being evicted and secondly having me over ??

If your bf is a lodger i.e. he lives with his LL then he has very few rights. The LL can evict him for any reason they like and as it's their home could put a stop to your overnight visits if they like.0

As a lodger his rights to you staying over and eviction are whatever the contract says
He does have a right to privacy and should speak to the LL directly about this.0 -
Do you mean he's a lodger? As it would be a little odd to have the landlord's family hanging round a rental at night!
Lodgers have very few rights, and if they don't wish you to visit, they're well within their rights to deny you access. They also only have to give "reasonable notice" if they wished to evict your boyfriend, which anecdotally seems to be around a weeks notice.
Although this doesn't apply if your boyfriend has a written agreement that specifies otherwise, in which case, follow that.*Assuming you're in England or Wales.0 -

I don't know what you expect him to say?
The family from whom he rents a room thought there was a possibility of violence being committed on a (presumably)young woman.Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0 -
If the boyfriend had been violent, and the LL had just continued watching TV while OP was being attacked (in their house), we'd all be condeming the LL out of hand!
LL was concerned and did the right thing.
As for the bf's rights, he must read his contract. Beyond that, he has few rights.
A chat with the LL. An apology for the noise/isturbance.Perhaps even a heart-to-heart about the ups/downs of love!
Keep the LL relaionship friendly rather than start talking about 'rights'.0 -
There was no act of violence and tbh I would have thought they would have knocked on the door and asked if everything was ok, not just to burst into his room as the room was unlocked.
They rent out 3 rooms and a down stairs apt. The daughter rents an upstars apt from them and she is the one who burst in with her dad the landlord. He pays his rent monthly to them.2015 Big wins: luxury 7 night holiday in sharm el sheikh, theatre tix, £123, IPad Air 16gb, Night in London hotel celebjuicetix :, Portable dvd playerT

Does the landlord live in the house? If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0

What does his tenancy agreement say about evictions and notice periods? There was no act of violence and tbh I would have thought they would have knocked on the door and asked if everything was ok, not just to burst into his room as the room was unlocked.

I really don't think the landlord is in the wrong here though. If you don't want people bursting in the either lock the door, or don't have rows loud enough to cause concern to other people in the building.0 -
Does the landlord live in the house?
Yes they do it's a huge house and they use the entry floors as their kitchen and front room , next floor up is rented rooms floor above that daughter rented apt and very top floor the landlords bedrooms, and the basement is a rented apt2015 Big wins: luxury 7 night holiday in sharm el sheikh, theatre tix, £123, IPad Air 16gb, Night in London hotel celebjuicetix :, Portable dvd playerT
