What nobody has taken into account is the cashier had been trained by Derren Brown and the missing money disappeared into thin air. Voilà.

If it was Derren Brown training then it didn't just disappear ... the OP was fooled into thinking all the notes were counted out and placed in the envelope, but £1000 of them went into a different envelope. OP saw all this but didn't realise because of the mind tricks. ;)

Did the bank teller look like any of these three?

despite being asked at least twice you have still not said what happened after the cashier counted the money out and before she put it in the envelope?

Where did she get the envelope from? under the counter, a drawer etc?

Did you watch her to put the money in the envelope?

If not, what were you doing?

Have you contacted the police to report the theft?

And why, if you do this regularly, did you not realise the envelope was a third thinner and a third lighter?

OP you seem to be avoiding any questions to which the answers exonerate the bank. Why is that?
