OP, I know you haven't suggested it, but whatever you do, do not be tempted to put it outside and tell the company it is waiting there for them.
The law says that while the goods are in your possession, then you must take good care of them.
I'm sure you are... just pointing it out.
Haha, no I haven't gone down that route although it is tempting to tell them it'll be on the doorstep for them!!
tbh I'm surprised that they havent suggested that as they've asked us to leave in back garden (we're in a terraced house with gated alleyways so not possible)!Yup - the last crosstrainer I bought was in a huge box getting on for fridge freezer size and weighed over 80kg. Wouldn't want to be shifting that!
Thankfully it's not that big as it would literally take up the entire hallway. I think it's about 55kg and pretty big box though. Felt that sorry for my neighbours who had it at their house for 2 weeks over Christmas unbeknown to us, that I even went round with a bottle of wine for them .Money-Saving-King wrote: »The bit where they have decided in 7 days the item will then be officially theirs is very unreasonable!
We had hoped that this would prompt the company into arranging a courier collection at a suitable time. If they were prepared to arrange a collection time that suits then of course we would hang on to the item a bit longer if necessary.
What would you suggest we do? We can't keep this in our hallway indefinitely!
I'd like them to collect it, and if it was anything that I could physically transport to a collection address then I would, although I still find it appalling that we should be inconvenienced for their error.
I also want to make sure that we do not get charged for an item that we didn't order and don't want. I'd hope that they cant use bank details entered previously to charge again?0 -

Replace 'at all' with 'by expecting the company to choose a collection time that's convenient with the OP' 0
