    Hello Diary

Phewww I am exhausted. Spent the whole weekend sorting out the shed, taking car loads of total, useless rubbish to the local refuse centre - which has been stored in said shed for goodness knows how many years. I feel I spent half my weekend in the car queue to get into (and out of) the refuse centre.

Still, the 'new' shed is all sorted and organised. The old shed has been demolished, sawn up and taken to the refuse centre and put in the wood recycling bit. The new shed is not metal it is plastic - as long as it keeps the stuff in it dry and secure I don't care.

I am totally worn out and ache from head to foot from all the work. It literally took all weekend to sort it all out.

Not money saving at all, but we were so shattered on Saturday evening we had a Kentucky :o. However, more than made up for it today by having roast that was sliced up and frozen in gravy from one of the Christmas roast meals.

Unfortunately it is Monday tomorrow so that means back to work. I don't mean to wish my life away but sometimes I wish I was retired already ;)

I wish I could quote signatures - Puzzcat your signature is great - it's the "I love my DMP" bit. It makes me smile EVERY TIME I read it :D

Very soon I hope I can be saying the same thing about our DMP:beer:

    Hello Diary

I am impatient - I rushed home from a really naff day at work, splitting headache - rushing to get the post and hoping against hope the StepChange pack would be here. Talk about feeling deflated and headache getting worse - there was no StepChange pack :( I feel like I am watching and waiting for my winning lottery ticket and the only difference is the StepChange ticket is guaranteed to deliver life changing results (lottery tickets offer potential to deliver life changing results but only rarely delivers :rotfl:)

A bit of a boring DFW day, i.e. another in limbo/waiting day.

Positive news is that EON Energy phoned me up and I can move my direct debit to the new bank without increasing the monthly payment - couldn't explain what the system was playing at but said that agreed monthly payment is currently forecast to be sufficient to cover our energy usage :T

You know January.....I find nothing ever arrives on a Monday :( !!

Tuesday is a different matter though :) !!

I have been speaking to Eon today too. They don't know what they are talking about do they? Good news though :).

Promise you will let us all know what transpires with the pack.

Still no pack from StepChange in the post today, so I plucked up the courage to phone them. My application was stuck in their web system and not generating anything - they had all the information and could see I'd applied but it wasn't going anywhere anytime soon

A very helpful gentleman has emailed the pack :j So I can print it off tomorrow and get it all sorted, signed, scanned and emailed back to them over the weekend. Phew, am I relieved :D:D

    Dear Diary

Well I haven't printed off the StepChange paperwork just yet. However, I have made token payments of £1 to all creditors (except our bank overdraft and 2 x bank loans). I have also contacted all creditors (again not our bank yet) and sent them the standard letter about working with StepChange, our SC ref number and token payment etc.

I am holding off notifying our bank until I am 100% sure both of our employers have moved our salary payments to our new bank accounts. So this won't be achieved until the middle of Feb :( Still on a positive note, no payments are due out of our existing bank accounts, and the 2 loans we have with them have payment holidays booked - so again no payments due for those. So even if one of our salaries goes into the old bank account we should be able to move it out without too much trouble.

I am going to complete the SC paperwork tomorrow and get it back to them and try and get a start date for the DMP of 1st March. That will give me the month of Feb to accumulate an emergency fund. Not sure how well I will do as I already know I need two new front tyres on my car and that won't come cheaply :(

I've also almost finished changing the DD info for all of our other regular monthly payments, e.g. house/car/life insurances, TV licence, energy supplier, appliance insurance. I've posted off the DD form for our secured loan. I phoned and requested a new DD form for our mortgage over a week ago and still do not have it. If it's not here before next payment due on 1st Feb I will phone and pay over the phone by card.

I tried extremely hard to move the DD for the monthly vehicle tax. The DVLA site is a nightmare (they could take a leaf out of the TV Licence website which was really user friendly). I have sent a message and will await a call or email back to see what I have to do.

Apart from that there is just my union subscription to move and my phone/internet/broadband - but I am contacting them tomorrow to see if I can get a better deal first or possibly will look elsewhere for a deal. We're happy to drop some broadband speed and TV channels for a better price.

Went and filled up the freezer yesterday - felt like an expensive shop at £98:eek:, but used my nectar points to reduce it by £25 and got loads of meat from the fresh meat counter which was being reduced so the freezer has enough meat in it for the whole of February and we stocked up on other household essentials.

Well I don't know if clearing our my brain to face my money worries has had an effect on my in general, but I now have the cleanest, tidiest house I've had in a long time:rotfl: I honestly think it's because I'm not being dragged down worrying about the debts and I can think about other things and actually enjoy them (yes, even housework and ironing;))

Wishing everyone a great debt busting week ahead
