Shower or bath

We have a 1960 standard 4 bed semi. Extended and improved and on the last leg now the bathroom. We have a downstairs shower room and toilet and large upstarirs bathroom with corner bath, seperate shower sink and toilet. No one in our house ever has a bath. I would like to re do the bathroom and put in a large walk in shower and no bath, some people have mentioned this might put off buyers when we plan to move in around 2 years, what do others think please? Are people really that bothered if there was no bath in a house you were going to buy?

family house with four bedrooms leave the bath"Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many"0

I'd say having a bath is a plus for a lot of people, is the bathroom too cramped with both a bath and shower at the moment? If so I would replace the separate shower and bath with one large bath with a shower over the top.0

I never have a bath either. But some love to relax in a bath.
As you have the space and will be selling in the next couple of years I'd keep a bath (but not a corner bath), maybe with a shower over and a shower screen. If there is space I'd put in a normal bath and a shower cubicle.
ETA - basically you want your property to appeal to as many buyers as possible when you sell. Having a bath and a shower is more flexible, especially families, it is easier to bath than shower young children. It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

I know when we were looking at houses on right move/zoopla that as soon as I saw a house not having a bath it instantly got ruled out.0

Thanks all, can fit in either a large shower over bath or smaller corner bath and seperate small shower so looks like the bigger shower over bath option to leave a more spacious room rather than a cramped room.0

Corner baths are bad. They're not comfortable if you want a good long soak. You can get P-shaped baths where the end nearer the shower is broader. This would be a better option in my opinion."Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance" - Confucius0 -
Another vote for P shaped bath with shower over.
As a 4 bed, buyers will probably expect a bath, particularly those with kids under 6.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
DEFINITELY leave the bath.
I use the shower a lot, and rarely take baths, but to have both shower and bath is ideal.
I think if you did a poll saying, do you prefer
a) bath
b) shower
c) both (bath and shower)
the vast majority would say both.0 -
Prefer to have both but it wouldn't be a dealbreaker for me.0

3 shower rooms in total seems rather excessive for a 4 bed house.0
