    How would this be possible?

Why does a political party's policy need to be possible?

    That's true...

I'd like to know the theory behind it I suppose.

The SNP wanted in their last manifesto to change the 1701 Act of Settlement. That forms a part of the constitution of countries other than the UK.

Think the clue is in the words 'last manifesto'... Mabye you should wait and see what's in the one for 2015 ? Do you have access to that one ? Or are you just SNP bashing for the sake of it ? I haven't saw your Labour/Tory/Lib dem manifesto threads appear yet. But you have access to their websites also surely.. Looking forward to those. Either Ed or Dave will be PM. Surely too more worthy of discussion by folks like yourself who regard the Scottish National Party as unimportant annoyances ?

Either that or you're becoming as obsessed, as I am apparently accused of..of watching and chronicling every move and nuance the SNP make. Even if they haven't actually made them yet. Hence "manifesto" No 1... Eh ? Why ?
It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?

LOL. I'm SNP bashing by quoting their own policies! All I can quote is their most recent manifesto from the SNP's website. I find it strange that you don't seem to support the policies of the party of which you are a member.

I have done the same thing with the Green Party too. Others to follow as I made clear in the first paparagraph of my first post.

Following up from our entirely uncontroversial Christmas Quiz, I thought I'd do a little thing on party manifestos and what has or has not been a policy for various political parties.

    So first up the SNP.

    #Reduce income tax
    #Scrap Air Passenger Duty
    #Reduce Corporation tax
    #Scrap bridge tolls
    #Spend more money
#Save money in a Sovereign Wealth Fund
#Make the UK unicameral (i.e. only have 1 house in Parliament so any Government can push through any law on a single majority)
#Change the constitutions of Australia, New Zealand and Canada

Before anyone asks, I'm not going to reference anything as I can't be bothered. I can say that these policies (apart from one) have come from various manifestos held on the SNP's own website. If you don't like what I post, put me on ignore.

Please note that tax and spending are economic matters.

Of course they are all possible. Can anyone see Ed saying no to any of Alex's demands if that is his only way into No 10?

As an English taxpayer I look forward to not only bending over and taking it up the Arri's but paying for the privilege
    I think....

Without Googling, my guess would be all those things are, or have been, SNP policy at some point.

So ? I think 'at some point' makes the thread too unambiguous. Gen admitted himself he hasn't checked or referenced any of it. As have you. Which means you're debating stuff that may be out of date. Bridge tolls were scrapped YEARS ago. So yes it was a policy 'at some point'....Will it be in their next manifesto as Gen has titled the thread ?...No. Manifesto No 1 SNP.. Not 'policy at some point' was the basis for the thread.
It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?

    Let's see them then.

Strange that I don't support what exactly ? Have I indicated something telepathically to you just by replying ? I don't think I've said anything on this thread about policy, even the more recent ones that may be accurate on your 'list'..

policies are always 'policies at some point'.

it is reasonable to assume that the policy continues until explicitly rescinded or replaced.
