Manifestos #1 - SNP

    Almost.

In the SNP's last published manifesto I can find, for the Euro Elections, a proposed change in the law was to the Act of Settlement. That is a part of Aus and Canada constitutions but not NZ's. Incidentally it is illegal under UK law to change the Act of Settlement without the agreement of Canada and Australia.

I'll put another one up tomorrow. Funny that Greens and SNP supporters don't support their own parties' policies or at least argue against people (ok me, not people) writing them down.

The SNP European election manifesto is nothing LIKE anything on that list you posted up. Where does corporation tax and 'spend more money' come into it ? It's mainly about fisheries, agriculture, immigration, energy, tourism and culture.

If you don't want people 'arguing' with you. Then don't post on forums. It's unlikely everyone will agree with every single post you ever make. I of all people here, know that. :)

Whatever manifesto you claim to have found is not the one I found. Mine is the SNP one. And even then, why would any EU manifesto mention Australia, Canada and New Zealand ? That's bizarre.. surely you thought to question it ?

You should try for a job at the BBC. Or Scottish Labour.. All experts at getting people riled up over complete crap like the above. It's not a question of people like me questioning my own 'parties policies'.. it's whether they actually existed in the first place. Next time it might actually be better to reference your assertions before posting them blind.

ps UK constitutional law, is a reserved matter until Scotland becomes independent.

pps the 'Act of Settlement' is a 300 year old end to a ban on Catholics being monarchs.
    1 January 2015
Scotland's inaugural first minister personally backed the campaign to reform the outdated and "prejudiced" Act of Settlement 1700, but feared an official disavowal by the fledgling Scottish Parliament could embarrass Tony Blair's Labour government and disrupt the peace process in Northern Ireland.
Papers from the first Labour/Liberal Democrat Scottish Executive in 1999 have been declassified today and reveal ministers' "careful handling" of the then opposition SNP's call to repeal the ban on Catholic monarchs.

Yes, definitely research better next time Gen. How outraged exactly do you think Aussies/NZ and Canadians would be to an ammendment rescinding a 300 year old ban on Catholics from the UK crown. :o
It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?

Are you trying to claim these weren't policies of the SNP?

I'm not convinced that the poster concerned actually understands what the word 'policy' means. After all, I believe it is the policy of the SNP to have an independent Scotland despite the fact that the question of the Union of the Kingdoms of Scotland and England is a Reserved matter.:)

Gen admitted himself he hasn't checked or referenced any of it.

That's distinctly not what was said, what was said was that references weren't going to be provided*, not that they didn't exist or that the policies hadn't been checked.

    *Due to laziness.
If you think of it as 'us' verses 'them', then it's probably your side that are the villains.

Policies at some point in time mabye. Going into the 2015 General Election ( as titled in your topic ). No.

The Act of Settlement will not make it into this years SNP manifesto for the 2015 UK General Election. Nor will bridge tolls, nor any of the other things that were listed in the opening post of this thread. Because they are currently reserved matters, and we lost the referendum. Further powers within the UK will be the order of the day for the SNP for now.

Therefore the entire premise of this thread was completely nonsense from the start. Extremely poorly researched as well.

This is no SNP manifesto for 2015 as yet. The title of this thread shouldn't have been presented as such either.

The policies weren't checked though, that's the point ? And the title suggests these policies may actually be in the 2015 manifesto going into the May election for the SNP. This is obviously not the case as the OP hasn't bothered to find out, thinking that skimming a few websites might provide all the info one needs to get a true picture.

Well I'm sure there are a few out there place actual votes doing just that. But most of us would actually check the validity of such claims beforehand.

I'm going to wait for the new manifesto to come out. I'm sure there will be plenty of LOLZ to be had as one bunch of mad socialists competes with another to find ever more lunatic ways of spending your money.
