Buyer not paid - relist?

I accepted an offer 24hrs after it was made but they have purchased another and therefore don't intend to pay.

Can I relist it straight away? Or should I raise an dispute case?

The item has an expiry date so need to get on with it.

And I only have 1 to sell

Help!

You really do need to finalise the first sale before you do anything else. As it stands you have a winning bidder and have FVFs to pay, if you sell again you get another winner and also more FVFs.

If the original bidder won't pay you can open an NPB on day 2 and close it 4 days later. If it closes without payment you get your FVFs back and buyer cannot leave you feedback.

They will get a non payment strike. Usually no issues unless they make a habit of doing it.

The alternative is a cancellation request that they may refuse and you end up paying for not selling something.

I had better look at a cancellation request then.

    Really, why?

As forgetmyname says buyer can refuse and you get to pay your FVfs , also, if buyer doesn't bother agreeing to it you have to wait 7 days for it to time out.

Getting your fees back is not about how you relist, it's about how you resolve the non payment issue.
You need to resolve this first, as if you relist, the original buyer may still pay, as well as a new buyer, leaving you in a pickle.

Raise a NPB - this will be safer than risking a cancellation, seeing as your buyer is being flaky.
Don't forget to add them to your blocked bidders list.

I guess if I were to end up with it sold twice, I could always cancel one of the auctions, which would be a minor issue.

I'm trying to glean if raising a case is likely to result in the buyer paying. I very much doubt it as he already has one.

The item has an expiry date which is why i'm in a hurry.

I would go ahead and re-list it immediately, but ONLY do this if you accept the risk that by sending a cancellation to the first person, they *might* click 'no' which would leave you with two sets of fees.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

The fees are £1 so not massive.

So I can't relist and then open an unpaid case? I think this the route I like.
