Hope your leg heals quickly lynnejk!

Just went to Mozza's and their reduced veg pile was heaving with lots of goodies - which is great because you need to eat a lot of point-free veg and fruit on WW to fill up.

Spent £12.62 bringing my total to £108.12 - and my shopping bag is sooo heavy!
WW yoghurts, salmon trimmings, salad bowl, and these all reduced: gammon shank, tomatoes, peppers, mushrooms, apples, salad onions, courgettes, onions, bananas and a canteloupe melon! :A
    Keep reading books!
    July grocery challenge START: £150.
    total SPENT £127.53, REMAINING £22.37.

I've done really badly. Totally didn't account for DDs birthday party nor that me and my OH are in all day. Still I changed the aim to £450 and I'm hopeful that'll be OK. To be reduced next month.

No point doing this and not being honest. Even if I'm not doing so well! :o

A bigger than usual shop this morning having spent a total of £41.67 spread across Mr T, Icel*nd & Morries. The bulk being Morries @ £36.29 after a £6 off £40 spend voucher - decided it was worth doing a big shop and took advantage of buying a small whole leg of boneless pork @ £2.61 a kilo. This will easily do 3 roasts for the 2 of us with at least 2 additional meals each - ie day 1 roast; day 2 cold; day 3 sweet & sour or curry. Works out at 18 portions for £8.50, so less than 50p a portion. Really pleased with that.

Most of this will be used during May so hopefully will save a bit during May.

Spent just over a fiver between Mr Ts & Icel*nd.

Not been on for about 10 days as got rushed to hospital after collapsing in the doctors (If you have to collapse its probably one of the best places to do it lol ) and had to stay in for a few days. Still a bit fragile but slowly improving and at least we now have a reason for me not being able to eat much.
First time I have been shopping today and the other days DH has been with a list however he always buys extras so our monthly total is now at £93.74 Not bad considering.
I brought some chicken livers before I was ill and I made a lovely spaghetti bolognaise using 2-3 of them. The rest got frozen for another time.
Hope everyone is doing well and now I will try to catch up on some of the posts.

Well folks, they say things come in threes, so to add to lynnejk's leg and Billie-jo's collapsing at the doctors, I have to report that DS2 broke his toe at youth club last night. I am one of the leaders and tbh he can be a bit of a drama queen, so imagine my guilt when I removed his shoe (not so gently) to find the swelling and bruising. No mother of the year awards here anytime soon :/

Anyhoo, wishing lynnejk and Billie-jo (and DS2) well - take care guys.

Back to the GC challenge. Budgets updated to here :)

We will go over this month. I've just ordered a large online shop for tomorrow evening. DH is away Fri to Mon with our only car so needs must. We are not going to have much fun being that DS2 is on crutches, so plenty of treats courtesy of MrT coming out way!! We are under for the year atm so it will balance out I'm sure.

    Have a great evening all.

A few long-term stock items used yesterday and today, the rest of the groceries used were already accounted for (shop bought this year).

Takes my figures to £78.50 out of £130.61 for month to date, and shop : stock ratio slightly improved at 73% : 27% for month to date, and 64% : 36% for year to date

Think I'll need to buy milk tomorrow before DS1 kicks up a fuss about there having been none for the last couple of days (doesn't seem to use as much on his work days, so I've got away with it - just). And I could do with picking up some frozen veg as I've finished off the mixed bag I've started using on a regular basis.

Don't get dis-heartened. It's not easy at first if you're used to spending loads on groceries. Perhaps you need to sit down towards the end of the month and go through your receipts to see what you are spending on. Then you could look to see where you can cut down a bit.

Don't forget to look at the first threads and maybe use some of the recipes for ideas. If you need any help, advice or want to ask anything just go ahead. There is usually someone on here who can help ;)

Gosh - how scary  Hope it's sorted and you soon feel 100%.

Managed an NSD here today. DH had a frozen curry with rice and I had a huge salad with tuna, avocado and cheese. We'll have a frozen pizza the morrow from stock. I buy the thin n crispy margarita and then add tuna (+olives +anchovies for me) and a little extra cheese.

Hope you all have a fantastic Friday
