    Hello all,

Well, my grocery budget is well and truly busted! I think I am about £40 over. This is mainly due to a very tempting 5 pound off voucher for M&Sin today's daily mail! I used this to stock upon a few M&S deals including three items for £10 and managed to get quite a few YS's too. The voucher gives 5 pounds off when you spend £35 in the food hall and I think I chose wisely. I got food for meals, rather than rubbish.

At the checkout I also got given a voucher for 5 pounds off a £30 food shop in the next week so I might use that too.

I will use this voucher at the beginning of my April shop which begins for me on 26 March. I need to be much more disciplined next month, As I have been very disappointed in myself in March. I have spent a lot of money I don't have on unnecessary rubbish so I will try to improve greatly next month! I'm going to try to spend only cash next month from a bag of money separated out specifically for my food shopping. I might even split it up into weekly amounts. I will have loads of meals in the freezer, so i just need to use them!

  • Well I've gone waaaaay over budget this month :( But I'm not going to beat myself up over it, the main reason I have is because I've changed our diet so we're eating a lot healthier, lots more fresh fruit and veg etc which all costs more. I've also been baking more so had to re-stock my baking cupboard.

So today I spent £46.66 in Aldi and £6.28 in Tesco's. DH wanted to go out to watch the rugby but persuaded him to stop in and bought him a few beers instead, so £7.30 of that was on beer, but a trip to the pub would have been closer to £30 so although it's gone on the grocery spends, it's a save overall. I've also cut out the takeaways we would have ( which would come out of a seperate budget ) and made something nice in it's place, which accounts for some of the overspend, but again is a saving overall.

So total spends now stand at £215.28 against a budget of £180 so an overspend of £35.28. I shouldn't need anything else this week as I've meal planned and bought everything that was needed. My April challenge starts on Friday, so fingers crossed I won't spend any more and April will be a bit more successful!

Still not going to dwell on it though, I might have gone over budget but I've lost weight and feel so much better :)

Went to morrisons today to use up a voucher! There was only one box of daz washing powder, that was on special offer, on the shelf and the box was damaged. So asked one of the assistants if they had any more and when they said no I asked if they could reduce the box. So an extra 25% off the offer price! You don't get if you don't ask! Stocked up on coffee ( £10), meat (£10), potato sack (£4), some fruit, veg and milk and a few other bits to get me to £40 so total was 36.13.

I think I might only get two aldi vouchers this week and do one shop at the weekend (if I can hold out that long) and then another shop on Thursday.

    Seventh Anniversary
    Hi all,

checking in after a week's holiday :) We had some spends there as well (it was self-catering) so the total now stands at £155.37.

The best news however is that Lidl has finally opened nearby! :j I went for a first little shop on Friday. On my small basket of six items I saved a massive £6.11 compared to where I normally buy. This is going to be a game changer!

    Good afternoon everyone,

just popping in to update my signature.

spent £30.19 in Ald* yesterday and then 0.89 on milk today.

I am under budget not be choice but due to circumstances where DH pay has not been very forthcoming. Will have to buy a few more bits on Tuesday, but just shows I can be creative when forced to. However my freezer is now empty, so will have to start restocking next month.

I am well over budget already and there's still another week to go :rotfl: My total for this week alone was £114 and I'm not entirely sure how! I suppose we had a couple of (cheap) meals out and bought burgers on St Paddy's day, but still spent too much in various shops and supermarkets. I think the total so far is around £320 (budget of £240 for the month ) Also I have not yet added up what I have spent in the non-food categories, I'll do that later.

Must do better next month :o
