Hi
I have just finished Januarys challenge and would to join Februarys challenge
£65.00 per week
gill5blue
I thought I would reply to people on this thread having received 13 thanks/likes
My budget is for 2 adults 2 dogs 2 cats, fish and a tortoise, plus 2 grandchildren who visit regular.
I am hoping to learn how to reduce my budget to £50.00 p/w
I have learnt(among other things) that bananas are about 10p each, I love bananas and now take one to work everyday. I think that they are great value, I used to buy a melon at £2.00 and that would give 3 portions 66p per portion(gosh).
I intend to break down each meal like this.
good luck every body

Well did anyone else see the Eat Well for Less programme on BBC 1 tonight? I'd say all of us are spending considerably less than the £264 a week they started off spending (family of 4, 2 adults 2 under 10 year olds)
Greg Wallace managed to save them £70 a week by brand dropping on everything. I still can't believe that people are spending my entire monthly budget in a week.
I think the people on here could do a much better programme if they really want to save money !! I also noticed that there wasn't much fruit and veg about ??

Hi all,
My Feb GC starts tomorrow, but today will be a NSD.
I,m starting Feb £45 spent, as I got a huge Waitr@se delivery mid Jan, which I split between Jan and Feb,s GC as it was mostly meat.
Its going to be a weird month, as I get my kitchen ripped out Monday:eek: I have made some HM ready meals, and have a little combi oven, and actifry, so basic food should be okay - its making me feel really stressed, the thought of not having my kitchen, as its my go to place if I need to chill out... Keep being told it,ll be worth it - just wish I could go away for 2 weeks and come back when its done:D
Anyhooo - good luck everyone xNote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

Good morning everyone.
First day of Feb for me. I've a yearly goal of £1500 for the year, which is around £125 per month.
Me, three cats, paying for anything that comes from the supermarkets or food from work.
First spend of £60 with my tesco order placed today for delivery on wed.
I'm also getting £20 out today to pay for my eggs, milk and Friday breakfasts this month.
Replenishing some stocks that have been a little hammered by the cold weather this month. Ordered 4x Rice Pudding, 10x Baked Beans, 10x Cottage Cheese, Fish, 4kilo Sweet Potatoes, 4x Butternut Squash, 12x UHT, Grapes, 10x Spaghetti Hoops, 2x Cherry Pie, 4x Mushrooms, 2kilo Carrots
Basically everything fresh will be processed for the freezer (apart from the grapes Omnomnom)That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.

Next Step: Bathroom renovation booked for January 2021

Good Morning!!
What busy thread this is already! Will have to have a catch up over coffee later
I'm still waiting for my main Tesco Delivery, but have managed to gather some bargains this morning (the benefits of working nights). Spent a grand total of £10.11 at Mr T's. This included some YS Bhajis to go with tonight's dinner, 6 jars of Pasta Sauce that are reduced due to a range change, and a few odds for the boys lunch boxes today.
Expecting Main Shop to come in around £50. I forgot a few things, but they can wait until Monday.
I'm toying with the idea of a second purse, as per the link at the start of the GC threads. Has anyone else tried this? Any hints and tips would be great
Have happy Fridays

Hi everyone. I thought I had posted my February budget but checked through and I haven't. My budget is going to stay at £250.00. It an amount that I'm comfortable with having halved it from a few years back. Managed to stay under budget in January by a couple of pennies.
I'm already down to £154.00 but I've done a huge shop earlier in the week. I've worked out I've got around £40.00 a week. Most meat has already been bought as well as the expensive things like my coffee and wash powder. In fact I don't really need any toiletries or cleaning stuff.
Need to do a small shop this weekend for pack up bits. Definitely need bread and milk today. Good luck everyone xMarch 2014 Grocery challenge £250.000 -
Well I managed to go over budget by £3.15 for January but as this included about £10 of ys meat which will all be used in February I am pleased.
Managed 19 nsds this month which is a massive improvement for me!
Got a text from Iceland today offering a free pizza worth £1.50 if I swipe my bonus card in store so will be popping to get that today.
I have written a rough meal plan for the whole of February and dh has approved it so fingers crossed will come in well under budget!February GC £181.99 /£200 NSDS 16/28
March GC £202.36 / £200 NSDs 16/31
