Hi all,
Figures have been updated and they are below £3k again
Wanted to pay a chunk off in March but it didn't work out with the fact we paid for our May holiday to the French Alps.
We bought flights to Geneva airport for £250 for all 4 of us return from Bristol and decided we would determine where we would stay later on. We have now book a eur0c@mp on lake annecy in the Alps for £298 for the 6 days. Hubby also sorted parking and the hire car so we are pretty much ready to go! Though this is an expense this is the first abroad holiday we would have been on which was paid for completely in advance with no bits going on a credit card to sort in the months after we return so if is great. Just a bit of spending money to get and we aren't planning on spending much.
Had hubby's Nans funeral today which was very sad, we let our daughters go and both stood up and said a few words- I was a proud mum. It was a beautiful sunny day to say goodbye to a wonderful lady!
I have started slimming world (not the meetings but following the plan) and have lost 8lb in 3 weeks which I am pleased with.
This afternoon we did a bit of gardening and we don't have tonnes planned for the weekend. Tomorrow dd1 has dance, we will do a savvy food shop and meet friends for lunch. Sunday the world is our oyster! SIL has invited us for a bbq so we may go there.
Tomorrow is like to list something's online for sale. Maybe any sale money should go towards our holiday spending?
Food for thought.......Orange Fairy

Hi all, thank you for your posts!
We have had a lovely weekend.
Saturday we meal planned and did a savvy Mr t shop and went out for lunch with hubby's friend who was visiting. Hubby only spent £16 for us and DD2 so it wasn't too bad. The evening was then a film night with the kids.
Yesterday was gloriously sunny so we went out for a walk on the Coast and found 14 geocaches before back to SILs for a bbq so we spent £4 on some bits to take round and £2 on parking- so a lovely day with minimal expense!
Payday is Tuesday next week so I really need to stretch my money to last till then!!
Today is a long week at work so I may not get my two swims in which is a shake. I also only lost a pound last week which makes me want to work harder to get back on track. A 2/3lb a week loss is what I am hoping for and not swimming this week will not help my cause!
Need to list items for sale! Can only really do this at weekends and they seem to fly by!
Back to work today was a bit gruelling- bring on the bank holidays!!! Hubby came home with £100 cash from his boss as a gift for the company anniversary which was great news.
I am hoping April should be quite frugal! Fingers crossed 😃

Morning Diaryland!
Well this morning I got a text which saves me a bit of money for this month . It was my best friends birthday on Saturday and as her present she wanted me to take get out for a meal tonight. She has text to say she isn't too well. I don't think I can now meet her till after payday so it may help stretch my money!
Working 8 till 3.30 today then off to pick DD2 from netball and DD1 has a modern dance exam today which she is really nervous about so I feel a bit sick myself! Then parents evening tonight at 5.45 so all go today!
Small things today;
Have a packed lunch
Dinner from stores- ham, egg and sw chips
Check banking
Update money app
Make a money plan for next month
Breakfast at work
Go for a walk at lunch- away from shops!
Sort out childcare for next week as I have been a bit slack and it is fast approaching!

Well DD thinks her exam went okay so that's a relief to be done with.
Keep you fingers crossed for us tomorrow as our car goes in the garage and hubby thinks it will cost about £600-700 so I am really hoping he is over estimating!
Need to get our spending money sorted when we get paid as the pound is so strong at the moment!
Toying with the idea of opening a n@tionwide first time buyer saver isa or savings account. While these aren't high interest they give us access to their 5% mortgages. I know we are not debt free yet but I do think if we are saving just a bit alongside the debt busting it is even more motivating. Both of us are £100 a month better off this paycheck onwards so we could each save £150 which would only be £50 above our current wage which would mean nearly £1000 saved over 3 months. It would be nice to become debt free and have a little deposit nest egg started. Not sure if this is wise or silly to start before being debt free........answers on a postcard please....

well we got the car back with a bill if £420 which to be fair wasn't bad as the issue we were having was just tyres and we were expecting to get some more tyres anyway so £420 inc tyres wasn't bad at all. Phew!!!Orange Fairy

Morning Diaryland!
Hubby got home last night and though the car bill was good news as it was less than we thought but they did tell him there was part of the car that is likely to fail soon which will cost £700+ so he is now looking for a new car. We wanted to change cars anyway so we don't really want to invest anymore money in this one!
Short day at work but then have my 4 yr old nephew from 3 till 6 and he is a bit of a handful so I'll be glad to make it till the end of the day!!
