Sad enough to be doing this on Christmas Day as the mortgage got paid today and all the totals updated!

So here is how 2015 looked:

    2015
#1 DFW - Clear CC2 - in progress for the second time!
    #2 MFW - Overpay £1000 on the mortgage - £1244.62
    #3 MFW - Mortgage total sub £111,500 - £110,140.94
#4 SAV - Save £500 to the 'month in hand' fund - £50!

#1 and #4 still in progress for reasons you will know if you are a regular reader here!
#2 and #3 achieved and some! Really pleased with myself for these two.

Mortgage figures out of interest are still showing I haven't lost a month in the length yet, despite Op-ing over a months payment, but hopefully this will reflect soon!.. I wasn't tracking daily interest at the beginning of 2015, but from May to December, it's reduced from £13.22 to £11.62. Be nice to get that under £10 per day in 2016!

    So looking ahead to 2016:

    2016
#1 DFW - Clear CC1 and be debt free! (toughie)
#2 MFW - Overpay £4000 on the mortgage
    #3 MFW - Mortgage total sub £100,000
#4 SAV - Save £300 long term savings
    #5 ME - Lose 70 pounds

The main thing for me this year is #5, it needs to happen and to get OP firmly established in terms of #2 and #3. You all know where I am with CC debt. I'm also going to track all survey income next year!

I hope you have all had a fab Christmas Day, ours has been awesome if slightly knackering!

I've updated my totals in my signature, paid another £200 off CC2, so down to £274, hope to get under £249 on this by next payday. Paid £115 off CC1 and that is down to £4,515 and again hope to get this under £4,499 by payday.

Also updated my goals slightly for 2016.

    #1 DFW - Clear CC2 / Clear everyday CC / Get CC1 under £2999
#2 MFW - Overpay £4000 on the mortgage
    #3 MFW - Mortgage total sub £100,000
#4 SAV - Save £300 long term savings
    #5 ME - Lose 70 pounds

Quiet day planned, will get out with bikes / kites / balls if it stays dry.. have a busy day tomorrow.

Mr T due later, pleased to report that nearly all of the Christmas food is gone.

    Have a good day all!

  • Just done my first (and probably only) bit of sale shopping!

Picked up slippers for little boy and a birthday present both for £10!

Also got them both dressing gowns for next winter reduced. Pricey at £20 each, but they were £35 full price and they are a good make. I've also got two ages up, so they will last.

Still in PJ's, still not really moved from the sofa, littlies are watching a film and I figure why not, it's the last day we will probably get to do this as little errands and trips planned for next week!

  • How can one week of the hols be gone already? Little girl had a meltdown before bedtime tonight, think they are just soooooo tired.. tomorrow won't help, as we are leaving mid morning and won't be back till late, tickets for a show and then off to see a Christmas light display..

  • Fully understand the tired littlies, ours are both shattered. After a few hours on green machines and quads today we headed to grandparents, packed both boys DVD players and encouraged them to just sit! They were pretty much asleep with eyes open for 2 hours but it worked a treat. Played with guns and domino trains later on and they both trooped off to bed calmly!!

Christmas is a great time for money plans and thoughts, I'm just a bit wary with baby coming and not being too frugal!
    MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......
  • Hope you all enjoy your day out today DF0D xx

  • Today was absolutely awesome.. we didn't go to see the lights due to bad weather and the show taking way longer than we anticipated (well worth it though), so all of us are totally knackered.

the antivirus renewal has popped us as due on the laptops so necessary expense due there.. will hunt around for the best deal!

Nabbed 50p on a ips0s survey tonight, but apart from that, it's been very quiet on the survey front understandably.

Decs are coming down tomorrow and need to nip to the garden centre for a few bits, have an indoor plant that is suffering in its current pot and needs rehousing!

We only have a few decs left up, one tree has gone which makes kitchen-diner feel spacious again. Everywhere looks so minimalist after the post Christmas clean.

Good luck with your goals this year. Good specific challenges. A while ago, one of the other mfw's I'm sure split goals into health, wealth and happiness (maybe radish or earthgirl). I'm thinking of categorising them too.
    June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!
  • Glad you all enjoyed your day yesterday DF0D, hope those littlies of yours had a little lie in today!!!

Im getting sick of the tree now! Think I may follow suit and take my down this week too xx
