In our up and down house move / stay put year - property down here seems to have gone crazy. Our neighbour went on market for £180k more than what we sold at and it went in two weeks. Sooooo that estate agent is going to value ours. The fact we sold at asking price, no bartering earlier this year makes me think we weren’t at the right price. We are being realistic and thinking no real increase but just want to know.

Been to Argus and collected a few birthday / Christmas gifts today. DD desperately needed new pillows and I bought us a new quilt on sale as I’m permanently cold at night.   Picked up a few other things for the littlies and did an amaz0n order this week. Feel I’ve made a dent and aiming to be mostly done by first week of November.

  • House valued with one agent coming in ridiculously optimistic at £140k over what we sold for earlier this year. Two others more reasonable at a 40k increase. We have been so undecided with moving so we are staying out for now.

Plodding on with surveys and sales. No OPs so far this month as focusing on Christmas / MOT / garden items to get the veg patch finished. Hoping I will be able to send some pennies before the end of the month.

Feeling super sad at hearing news of Purple Fairy tonight. Puts life into perspective.

  • Well all of us got up reporting horrible dreams last night so who knows why that is.

Pottering day at home. Need to request a book from the library that they don’t have but they are usually pretty good at ordering them. Figure it all saves money and me buying them.

Will do some art with the kids later and some prep work for an online workshop we have tomorrow.

  • Been a wet wet week.  And we have come home soggy for two days so having a day in today. Kids been ace and done all their home ed so they asked if they could have an hour iPad time so I get an hour quiet time.

Though sitting here, all I can see is the mountain of leaves outside so think I’ll get out there in a min and get them picked up.

Few surveys done today. Earnings this month are looking ok!  £107.13 OP this month. Not likely to manage another. We still have our house bricks that we colour in every time we pay off £1000 but I think I might do a new one having just read someone doing £50 ones. Far more motivational I reckon to be able to colour them off more. Might do £100 blocks though.

Few more Christmas gifts ticked off this week. Have one more main pressie for DD and then it is just stocking fillers. Have DH and step kids to sort but know exactly what I’m getting. Just need to buy and get them delivered to them as not sure we will get to see them this side of Xmas.

  • Nearly all presents ordered now which I’m really grateful I pushed on and did. I’ve two more to sort but one is for another country so that’ll be no problem getting delivered, the other dependant on a baby arriving so I just need to hit buy when I know the gender!!

Half expecting a lockdown in the foreseeable now. 😬 in some ways I agree and just think get it over with, but I dread another month stuck in and around home, especially for the kids who have just got back into the swing of things.

  • Here’s October!

    Money earned £176.87 ~ total 2020 to date £970.30

    OPs £107.13 ~ total 2020 to date £3251.55

    Mortgage balance - £65,711.86

Mortgage percentage left to pay 30%

    98 months left

+ did well on the money earned this month. Will obviously aim to pass £1000 this month.

    - OPs feel woeful and won’t get much better but will aim for £3500 by the end of the year and probably need to look at the bigger picture. We had unexpected vet bills and new car tyres. That said it’s no excuse.

Don't do yourself down, you've done £3251.55 more than you could have done - that's fantastic 😀😀😀!

Finally earning interest instead of paying it!!!
  • Thanks SC. Sometimes you need a reminder but I am looking at bigger picture and thinking it’s still over £7k OP in the last two years!

  • So thinking positively, I’m sure there will be money left over at the end of this month. Being home ed anyway, most things of not all will stop again, so I won’t have swimming lesson fees and if we are not out and about, little spends won’t add up.

Sat and finished the advent plan last night I have for this year as want to make the most of the build up, so it’s something fun every day but not expensive - Christmas movie night, games night with Christmas tunes on, Christmas light scavenger hunt and lots of baking themed activities.  The Christmas tree is also going up much earlier!

We have an organised activity outdoors today so it’s looking like I’ll need waterproofs!

First OP made today of £2.83.

Moved half of the swimming fees to save / OP pot.  Have some lessons to carry over until the end of lockdown as well so not likely to have to pay these again until January. So £10.57 sent as an OP.

Went to fill up at ES&O tonight to nab 250 nectar points.
