  • Nothing wrong with some excitement :D
    First home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).
New forever home- Sep’21 £309,449 @ 2.05%. Plan to clear it before 30 years!!!!!!
  • Pay day for me and finally the refund came through from the power company.. £300 sent to CC2 and £100 sent to CC1.

Have some more I could pay off, but it's a long way till 31 January, so I'm going to keep some back just in case!

Debating whether to buy DD a new bed, a high sleeper as her room is fairly tiny and any way we could maximise space would be worth it, looking at £300 for the one we want delivered, however could recoup some of that by selling her current bed and wardrobe though wouldn't get a huge amount for them. Alternative is to send £300 to CC2 and really focus on paying off the debt first.

Have to say I'm leaning towards the debt repayment as I really want this gone and I might actually be able to clear CC2 by the end of January - oh I'm answering my own question here aren't I?

  • So before I change my mind, I've sent another £300 to CC2, now at £367 - needless to say I want under £299 by mid January so it WILL be clear in January.

It's payday and I've just spent £700 on debt repayment - this is why I want it gone, we could have done a lot with that, made mortgage OP's, work around the house etc. so frustrating.

Never, never again will I go willingly into debt - (it's only the unforseen emergency that might make it happen) - but I'm working on the EF now!

  • Clear the debt finally
Build emergency fund of at least £500
End the year with the mortgage under £90k (massive stretch target and not sure this is achievable)
    Lose 5 stone
Linked to above, sell wardrobe contents and other items and make £500
Make £300 from survey / cashback income

Some big goals there dfod - always good to think big!

It will be so nice to get rid of the debt and have some savings and I'm sure you can do it.

5 stone is a lot! I've only been "dieting" for 3 weeks or so now but I feel so much better about my body. I had been avoiding baths as I hated seeing so much fat (I have a very slight frame so I don't carry it well or evenly) and yesterday I had a bath and felt fine. I stuck to a strict one meal a day for the first few weeks and now I only eat between 12pm and 6pm but as it's Christmas I'm having a fair few treats.

Not for everyone, but I'm doing a VLCD.. I've done it before, but for one reason or another didn't continue. I'm stocked up for a few months and am really determined to do it as we have an event next year that is massive motivation for me.

I've tried WW, cals and so much other stuff. had good success with WW but that was prior to them changing the points system and I find the new system really hard to manage.
