Good idea. Mentally it will feel much nicer being totally debt-free, rather than being nearly debt-free and have paid a little more off the mortgage.
Hope the school stuff gets sorted - I seem to recall a less than supportive reception teacher earlier in the school year.Mortgage (Start Sep 2014)- £70,295/£0 - 100%

Still massive debate going on about whether we start to home ed here.. it's causing so much stress.. the only thing that is stopping us is money!
My heart is tipped towards doing it and it will mean reining in sooo much stuff just to even pay the bills, but I think we could do it and kind of relish the challenge..
Have a meeting with School today, DS has his referral at the end of July and we have a visit to the other School, still waiting to hear from admissions, but am expecting them to say full and put us on the wait list. The worry is that we put them through a school move and it still doesn't get any better.. but I feel we have to do that to know it's the right thing although it will depend how we feel about the visit next week.
Aside from this I have to start to plan for it. Clearing the debt is now a top priority.. I have £783 to pay off the debt, but we are going at the weekend to order the stuff for the garden. Which will take most of that.. however this garden needs slabbing if we are going to be home so much more.. any remainder is straight off the credit card.. July and August is everything just flung at the credit card and the long term plan is that we make the decision by the end of the year at which point I need to have saved up an emergency fund of at least £1000. We would be eligible for tax credits, but I reckon they would be minimal this year due to having earnt a salary.
I need to start looking for other part time roles I can do at night as I would keep my part part time role and anything else would supplement the income. I also need to get my accreditation finished as this would put me in good stead above others as not many have it in my area.
I'm also thinking I could sign up with a professional baby sitting agency to earn extra, go on the poll clerk database, some temp work annually around May / June is an option and look for a cleaning job.. all of this would need to take a back seat though as the kids are the priority.
Not even sure why I've just brain dumped that all here, but it's helpful to me I guess to see my thoughts.
Just reminded me I need to go see what DH's pension is, if he takes it now. If he did - does any one know - he would have to pay tax wouldn't he as he is still earning?DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Evening DF0D,

Been an emotional week.. I think we are there in that we are going to stick with School for now.. transfer School was full as expected, but we are going on the wait list because kids do move and you never know.
Will go for his assessment and see how that goes. School are clear the impact this is all having on us and I'm just hoping a new class / teacher will make a difference.
Am ordering School uniform tonight whilst M&S have their 20% off. After ordering everything from there last year, I've learnt what is worth paying that bit more for, so jumpers, cardies and pinafores coming from there. Trousers and polos can come from Mr T. Will get Cl@rks shoes again as DS's are still in amazing condition.. Will try DD there for one more year.. but her £12 asda emergency buy from a few months ago are holding up awesomely!
Off to buy all for the garden tomorrow and then more work in the kitchen with the blackboard wall getting painted hopefully.
Thinking lots about MTG and all our woofers tonight. :-(DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

your question on pensions, I think each person is entitled to 25% pension lump sum tax free, and then the usual personal annual tax allowance from HMRC... £11k, anything over that is taxable income.Mortgage restart June 2018 £119950Re mortgage August 19 £110470, … Mortgage November 22 £85600 final 0% CC 3300Home renovations - £65000, mid 2018 - mid 20220

Woke up to a flooded kitchen this morning, though the cat had had a mega weeing session!
So off out soon to order the garden supplies and pick up a new hose and something else DH informs me we need to rectify the plumbing!
Rest of the day will be pottering in the garden, weeding and finishing off the planters.. and generally starting to prep the garden for the work to start and also identify any bits we need to sort out for the new arrival in a few weeks
