Hi, I have 2 direct debits set up. For the first time one of the bills for which the direct debit is et up will be in credit. So no payment will be taken this month. Will I still get the £5 reward payment or does money actually need to leave the account?

    T&Cs:
    "The £5 reward

This will be paid each month if you pay in £750 or more, pay two different direct debits and remain in credit throughout the previous calendar month. This payment is ‘net’ of income tax, which means we pay it after taking off income tax at the rate set by law (currently 20%). If you’re a higher-rate taxpayer you may have to pay extra income tax on the reward payment. The gross amount is £6.25 - this is the amount before income tax is taken off."

You've probably got time to set up a Tesco savings account which you can fund by DD from your Halifax account.

Depends on how much you'd miss the £5, and whether this is likely to happen again?

Hi I was thinking of using 'Community tax, water, as DD's' then realised there is months when payment isn't taken.

My water company collects by 12 monthly payments, and my council offers 12 months as an option.

Maybe you should speak with your providers and see if the same is available?
