Ohhh I agree ISIS must be beaten ... where have I ever stated otherwise ?

What concrete military action are you proposing Britain take then to beat them?

Because they're not going to be beaten with words and wishes.

It's arguably true that if the UK hadn't fought the WW2 , then there would have been few deaths overall and almost certainly fewer UK deaths.
Would the world have been a better place?

Why are we not bombing Saudi Arabia who beheaded 200 people the other day ?

The Middle East is already unstable enough without inflaming the situation. The concern must be that the unrest spreads to Turkey. Then the trouble is right on the EU's borders.

    We did this morning.

RAF Tornado's took out a Daesh controlled and operated oil field in the Syrian side of their 'Caliphate'.

Until the vote last night we could not target that source of their funding.

Many more facilities like this are no doubt being targeted as we speak.

I assume that only the British knew of the existence of this oilfield and, for some reason, didn't mention it to the US, French and Russians? That's the only reason I can think why we needed British involvement. Perhaps we're the only ones with the correct type of bomb necessary for oil field destruction?

Nor with airpower alone. Are you OK with British boots on the ground?

Perhaps if the UK hadn't fought the first world war then the iniquities of the Treaty of Versailles would not have made such a fertile breeding ground for German Nationalism?

This holds true for the second Iraq war, and the action in Libya.

I remember the good old days when Iraq was busy fighting Iran, and Iran was busy fighting Iraq, and they were both aggressive towards Israel and vice versa.

I treat the whole region as a lost cause frankly. It's full of nomadic tribes; there are different flavours of their chosen religion.

There will be some other group of nutjobs coming along in the near future to replace the current lot, no doubt.
