You still do not understand that wanting independence is not linked to a party....for some it is but not for all.First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, and then you win - Gandhi0 -

Presumably you have some kind of source for this data which you would be happy to share with the rest of us. A link to an authoritative website is traditional.
Otherwise, the more cynical among us might think you have simply made something up that supports your wild and outlandish claims.0 -
Your ignorance knows no bounds I seefoxtrotoscar wrote: »Finally you admit you are 'SNP' despite your previous protestations.
Just to inform you ( as you obviously don't really know much about this situation)
Not everyone that supports independence are members of the SNP
I know that must be such a shock to your system but we have RISE, WFI, CW, Greens, NC, English Scots for yes, Asian Scots for yes in fact so many sub Yes groups I won't bother naming anymore
Please try and get yourself educated ... or don't bother, continue making yourself look stupid ... either works for me

And that's where a lot of the issue lies ... what's credible ? The BBC ? Not in my opinion ... the sun ... I think most can agree they art ... add that argument to the one where not everything was reported and dealt with you have a hard piece of evidence to provide ... the No campaign made a huge issue over egg gate ... then evidence came out that Murphy set it up ( like he did the whole Eddie Izzard thing) who do you believe ?
There's currently a case just finished of a councillor ( I think she was) kickING a yes supporter at the polling station ... havnt seen any yes voters done for that but that's not to say that hasn't happened
Then there is the nutter that purposefully tried to drive ( or even managed to I can't remember now) Wee Eck off the road ... egg gate got much more publicity
Then there's the chair thrown at Jim Sillars campaign people ( Jim Sillars isn't SNP and he is an Indy supporter ... maybe I should tell him according to some he doesn't exist) from a verandah
Now that might have happened to No voters as well I can't say for definate but I didn't see any reports
Then there was the threat of getting shot and killed ( that one happened to me) from a very bitter unionist ... I didnt press charges ... and I'm sure a lot of no voters didn't press charges either
I do know my local councillors son was abused verbally at the polling station by yes supports ... enough that he was shook up and really upset ... that's bang out of order ... he didn't press charges
I also know the person that got glassed by a No voter outside the polling station ... he did press charges ( can't say I blame him either tbh)
This is just the tip of the iceberg of what happened ... and both sides were involved ... why didn't we have some unionists here on this thread try to connect the SNP to the nazi just last page ? Ss for example ?
Where have any of us Indy supporters accused the unionists of being Nazi here ?0 -

The plural of anecdote is anecdotes not data.
The half dozen or so people posting on this thread barely constitute anecdotes.0 -
I agree ... but I also don't think it should be ignored ...
I was merely pointing out it would be very hard to get full unbiased evidence for it
And let's be honest though ... one of the unionists did insinuate the SNP are like the SS .... thankfully another put them in check ... but it's noted by the many readers
Have yet to see the indy supporters accuse the other side of it0 -
Elantan, shakes, zag,
I'm still reading but have given up trying to explain or get others to see that we are not all extremists. It's very disheartening to think this is how SNP & or Indy supporters are seen. A source of much ridicule it seems.
I appreciate you taking the time to recall incidents last year Elantan but they will be dismissed. No one listens to anything other than what supports their view that Yes were the troublemakers & instigators.
There was some graffiti painted on a polling station on the 18th sept near me. It said 'vote no & die' or something like that. Yep, that's one way to get people to change their vote! Of course the media jumped on it and Jackie Baillie was outraged. I'll never be convinced unless the offender comes clean that it wasn't sabotage.
You've no idea how riveting it is reading insults about the FM & former FM...........zzzzzzzz0 -

I didn't read it like that. I think they tried to make a weak pun based on an American term for a bottom.
I don't think that anyone thinks that the SNP leadership, for all their faults, could in any way be reasonably compared to the Waffen SS. It would be a weird comparison anyway given the SS's position in the political-military-police structure.
I think the SS was in a unique position, or at least I've never heard of anything similar: a police wing of a political party that fight alongside the army in a separate command structure that will become a civilian police force in foreign countries in time. I don't see how that could remotely be compared to anything, even the utter mess that Police Scotland seems to be becoming.0 -

Oh OK then it wasn't meant to be a comparison to the nazis
Cause I know I for one have never ever read or heard a SNP nazi comparison ... and I'm sure you havnt either Gen ?

Yes - that is how I took it, either a bottom or a donkey, or possible a r s e, decorously missing an "r". Although it was, I thought, merely an extension of the jokey posting at the time, I thought such could get really too personal so objected in an attempt a reset.
My original Ss was "inspired" by the "two Ronnies" of course, not the Nazi Party.
... Would not have thought it necessary to explain a joke, but there we go ...Union, not Disunion
I have a Right Wing and a Left Wing.
It's the only way to fly straight.0
