The Tories will surely repeat the tactic at the next election too ? With even more added nastiness should Corbyn still be in the picture. There will be another independence referendum shortly afterwards imo..(if Scottish polls hold, and the union limps through Trident and the EU ref first of course). Sturgeon's 60% will be a shoo in by then... after another Tory election campaign. ;)

Always assuming the scottish electorate are happy with how SNP use all their new powers. That's when the fun starts. They will have to make decisions on tax and welfare ~ and not everyone will be happy.
If I don't reply to your post,
you're probably on my ignore list.

The Achilles heel of the Torys is Europe. It always has been.

From a SNP stance, it's a shame you are not in a position to push for a referendum right after the Euro referendum.

We are told that there is a lot of pro-Europe sentiment in Scotland, whereas down here it's much more mixed.

Who knows where the UK will be, after the next election; or Europe for that matter. Something like the Syrian refugee crisis can emerge from seemingly nowhere to dominate the headlines. It might be difficult to grab the political space needed.

Europe is mostly about immigration really and Scotland gets very few immigrants, thus it's less of a story. Ditto NI.

Have you ever thought what would happen, if England voted 'Leave'.. but the vote was so close that a Scottish 'Remain' vote tipped the balance ? *strokes chin* ;)
It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?
  • so the whole SNP thing is just a big game

Like with the Smith Commission, Swinney and the SNP's stance has never wavered. He's said the same thing from very the start of the process.
Mr Swinney stressed the fiscal framework that accompanies the Bill was an "integral part" of further devolution to Scotland. Both Mr Swinney and First Minister Nicola Sturgeon have warned they will recommended Holyrood does not grant its consent to the legislation if they deem the framework to be unfair.
The Deputy First Minister said: "We see the fiscal framework and the Bill as one and the same thing - there is no point in having the powers if we do not have the fiscal framework that allows us to exercise the powers without prejudice to the interests of Scotland."

Why on earth do you think any government in the world would vote through powers that are detrimental to itself and it's citizens ? This needs to be gotten right. Not rushed through in a vain attempt to gain a few points at the ballot box for the Tories in May. Scotland will have to live with whatever is agreed for a while... ( or mabye not depending ).
