It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?

@Shakey - I've no doubt that a few here have looked at a googled collection of historical accounts of the Union as well as modern pontifications of how to interpret them. I suspect that most have come away with the impression that it's a complex subject which would keep lawyers happily engaged for years. Your dissemblies claim everything is "simple" based on (to substitute an over-used SNP buzz-phrase) the "inalienable right of the Scottish Nation". But, to remind you of an argument we all had a year or more back, Scotland is not a sovereign nation, it is part of Sovereign nation called the UK, which was formed for, and agreed to be, for ever.

Your assertion that the rUk is irrelevant is nothing but pure blinkered arrogance, The attitude of the rUK would certainly influence the timing and legitimacy of any Neverendum and, crucially, the outcome of any subsequent negotiations of whatever type they may be.

We are all in ONE country, most of us living together harmoniously, with just one small party trying to sow discord and division. You live in a bubble, Shakey, too much hit air will burst it.
    Union, not Disunion

Aye it's awful, the lack of respect is disgusting ... we should force the No voters to watch it and let them see their union in action

Nothing is forever in politics string. And its a political union we're talking about. :) And I didn't say that rUK was irrelevant. I said the reaction to a Yes vote would be. Though I'll grant you that the last minute panic striken Vow was a mark of sheer desperation last time in case it was a Yes.

If there's another referendum. I doubt they'll bother with any of that. If I live in a bubble, then there's a fair few in Scotland living in the same one. In fact I'd go so far as to say that it may be yourself that's living in one, A big bubble where at some point the Scottish people will 'come to their senses', vote Labour en masse and that everything will go 'back to normal'....

I doubt any of that is going to happen anytime soon. You may need to start accepting that things have changed since 2011.

My Twitter feed is the same. Who was that daft MP crowing 'Good' that there were no Scottish MP's on the Human Rights Committee... then when challenged saying SNP MP's shouldn't be on it as its a 'reserved' matter ? What a numpty.

And string is adamant its the SNP sowing 'division'...

Someone Costa ... Tory backbencher ... but we all know String will be able to say the SNP started it I'm sure :)

.. the disrespect was disgusting ... I don't know how none of them didn't loose the plot with them ...

Ahhh well Scotland voted down 3 times on Scottish matters by non Scots ... wouldn't happen if it was EVEL now would it ;)

Then she'll wait it out. along with the rest of us until they do. It's looking like a looooong Tory led five years ahead. The prospect of another five years beyond that with Osborne, Johnson or May in charge should boost the polls up a bit more.

( but nothing is certain in politics. That's what keeps it interesting ;) ).

I have only briefly been on Twitter but it appears that less than 10 non SNP MP's were in attendance for the debates. Small, insignificant, unimportant, disdain, disgust. Just a few words rattling round my head

Copied from a friend of mine.

    Sept 2014
    Scotland : we've had enough, we're off
WM : but we love you, don't leave us, lead us! We'll change; we'll let you take control & make the decisions that affect your life....
Scotland : ok, we love you too...

    Nov 2015
Scotland : but you said you would let us make our own decisions, you did, you promised. You said you loved us.....
WM : we let you keep 40% of your wages & said you can take another job if you need more money. You are lucky we put up with your whining! Now stop your demands & your grievances & realise how lucky you are.....

    Healthy relationship or abusive relationship???
