Tories now 9 points ahead of Labour in Scotland apparently. The new party of choice for those in Scotland who want to preserve the Union perhaps?“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0

From a UK subsample of 180 ( and not weighted to Scotland ) ? Hmm.. Ruth Davidson should mabye hold off popping the champagne corks just yet..It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -
They blow where the wind blows, clearly.
But you are right, there are Tory policies which would help the SNP cause. For example, the effort to tenegotiate the terms for the UK within the EU, if successful, will ultimately benefit the non-eurozone members of the EU, and thus provide a favourable precedent for a Natland wanting to join the EU without having to join the Euro at the same time.
But then they so like their anti-Tory ranting. It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.

SNP announces it is "Raising Concerns" over "Public Funding for Propaganda"....

I'm guessing that wasn't quite the response they were looking for...:)“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

The price may be lower now but that didn't stop oil adding 1% to UK GDP- what a curse oil would be for Scotland :rotfl:
Scotland paying more than its fair share again ....

North Sea oil rebound fuels UK GDP growth
Yes, oil and gas have added to UK GDP growth although I would love it if you could point me to the posts where you showed the decline.
Let's also not forget that the clock is ticking on the North Sea. In a world where CO2 output is meant to be falling and the Saudi Petroleum and Natural Resources Minister is predicting that oil consumption for energy will be ~0 BOE by 2050, basing your economy around oil isn't likely to end well.
Then again Scotland has experience of that, with the UK Government (London taxes) propping up huge amounts of heavy industry in Scotland long after the economic case for labour intensive industry at UK wage levels was gone.0 -

So the SNP are both pro-Tory and anti-Labour by their very existence.
Glad we cleared that one up
I was beginning to question their purpose.0 -

Still struggling with the bigger picture I see Shakey.
There is a world outside Scotland.

At first sight a clumsy own goal, but I wonder if it's pre-machinations ahead of a new referendum attempt, quite probably to be declared illegal by the UK Government. As I pointed out elsewhere, an illegal government would likely not invoke legal restraints on the UK Parliament during the referendum process with respect to publishing opinions/guidance on the issue. That would mean a flood of FACTS to counter SNP wishful thinking. So we may be seeing the start on attempt to hobble such reactions, so that the normal SNP blather can go unchallenged.Union, not Disunion
