SNP have been in power for a long time
plenty of time to
-reduce the salary of the First minister and so correct their error in voting for such a high salary
-to concentrate on improving the lives for scottish people rather than simply being anti anything the English do.
-they could start by withdrawing a large hand outs to rich parents and rich graduates and divert the money to helping the under achievers in scotland or other more worthy causes.0 -

Or indeed simply stop cutting NHS spending.0 -

That's a real shame. Tories in Scotland 'furthering Scotland's place in the union' .. Oh dear.. And Labour have had decades to have a go at furthering. Time for someone else to have a shot at it now.
Self-serving arrogance is a feature of most political parties, and the SNP is no slouch on that. There is as much desire to do good by Scotland in all the political parties in Scotland I am sure, but they do not all share the political view of what is "good".
Instead of always drifting off into extrapolations of polling, why don't you try to answer a direct challenge? For example, since we seem to be discussing the Scottish NHS at present, why not answer the concerns so succinctly put by Generali as follows:Once again, of course, you ignore the central point which is that despite the SNP calling on the UK to spend more on health, they are cutting spending year-on-year-on-year and too much of the money they are spending is going on gimmicks like free parking.
So is it correct a that funding on the NHS in Scotland has gone down? Note that the question relates to past performance, not future promises of increased funding, as enabled by the wicked Tory Government recently.
Why did the funding go down in Scotland, what things did the SNP think more important? Funding a certain White Paper for example?Union, not Disunion

Oh you do more than your fair share of ranting, don't feel disadvantaged on that, dear Shakey.

To be completely clear, I'm talking about inflation adjusted spending, spending in real terms.0 -
Only one thing is important to the SNP - independence. All policy is directed towards achieving this aim.
Any other aims, such as improving health outcomes, are way down the priority list and it shows.
Typical ends justifies the means stuff.0 -
Once again, of course, you ignore the central point which is that despite the SNP calling on the UK to spend more on health, they are cutting spending year-on-year-on-year and too much of the money they are spending is going on gimmicks like free parking.
They're spending over 12bn this year for the first time. Did you miss the link I posted about two pages back. Where are you getting your info from on all these cuts btw ? They can only spend what they are allocated from the Treasury each year. It's not as easy as simply repeating that the SNP are 'cutting' whether in real terms, or in any terms come to that. In order to increase spending in the NHS, the funding has to be taken from elsewhere in the Scottish Budget at the moment. There's just no way around the fact that the Scottish budget has to be balanced. They've done pretty well with what they have.@scottishlabour @theSNP in 2013/2014, NHS Scotland successfuly treated over 98% of patients within 12 weeks. 316217 patients out of 3225509.10.14Douglas FraserVerified account â€@BBCDouglasF Internal managers' discussion of "£450m NHS cut" was wrong: NHS gets £288m more, incl capital spend: above £12bn for first time. #ScotBudget
Most of these NHS 'crisis' reports most recently have been manufactured en masse before an election. Labour spent months this year at it. We're used to it now. Obviously 2014/2015 figs aren't out as yet. But I can't really see what the problem is apart from point scoring headlines. Room for improvement of course, as I keep saying, but satisfaction levels higher overall than it's English and Welsh counterparts.
And a little bit more than free carparking on offer.
"SNP Built state of the art hospital in Glasgow, on time, on budget and entirely from public funds".It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -

Edit, yes just had a quick look. 99% of stories about 'snp nhs spending' refer to a 450m cut, by a 'whistleblower' and a 'leaked dossier' a few days before the referendum. Daily Record/Telegraph/BBC and lots of others picked it up.

Please note, that I answered your question directly. It's hard to take your posts seriously when they consist of name calling and little of anything much else. Certainly not up to what your usual posting style has been up until now. Mabye a few deep breaths ? I wouldn't worry about me. I fully expect my posts to be trashed as soon as they appear. I don't waste energy getting angry over it.It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.

Monster isn't it and since it first opened has had little but bad press.
Too big, full of empty space, NHS target figures worst for all of Scotland, ward temporarily closed due to poor air quality, yet another expert team drafted in to review problems. The list just goes on and on.
Naturally some of it is normal teething problems which will hopefully be resolved. I would hate to be anyone ever needing its services.
Despite all this, the thing troubling some of our friendly Nats up here the most , seems to be it being named The Queen Elizabeth. So a petition has been started to get it renamed. Lol.0 -

Well, as an SNP member, I can assure you, that it's name is something I'm 'intensely relaxed' about. As are most. It doesn't really matter. It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0
