Salmond and Sturgeon Want the English Fish for More Fat Subsidies

The main problem with Nicola Sturgeon, is that she is head of the SNP, and therefore very limited in what she can do. She also has a credibility problem because as a socialist leader of a country that has just voted to stay part of a much larger right wing union, she will always be accused of expecting England to pay for Scotland's left leaning requirements.
She is however, along with the SNP, an immense thorn in the backside of the neo-liberal establishment, which cheers me up immensely.
It would be nice if the Labour party could get themselves a Sturgeon, but she would ever have even got onto the back benches of Labour, so terrified are they of appearing in any way left wing any more.
God forbid we should have any politicians who claim to care more about the rights of working people than those of global corporations and billionaires. Although, to be fair, unless the last election was totally fixed, most English people apparently care more about the undeserving rich than they do about themselves.0 -

You've seen Mr S's political interviews before right? This is basically scripted stuff. Paxman he ain't and nor is he meant to be.0 -

That's a bit disingenuous in my opinion, else Nicola Sturgeon is a great actress as well as great politician.
You could see the concentration as the host prepared what appeared t obe a serious question only to end up asking what is Haggis.
The reaction of Nicola Sturgeon to me showed this was not scripted (from her side) and genuine reaction to the comedy question.
Same with her witty retort about the Americans not usually asking before invading countries with oil.:wall:
What we've got here is....... failure to communicate.

I don't think it was scripted. Most of the comedy value of that show comes from guests slipping up. They'd definitely pre-screen questions for people who they were lucky to get on there, like Hilary Clinton or Gwyneth Paltrow, or possibly even Boris.
Nicola Sturgeon would have been on her own and she did ok.0 -

Well this seems a bit unfair. After pledging to use oil money to fund doleites, benefit bludgers and families who don't work in perpetuity post independence, the Scottish government has decided to pull funding from Britiain's most famous economically inactive tax payer funded parasites - the Windsors!
http://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2015/jun/24/scotland-decides-stop-funding-queen-scottish-crown-estate
The Queen is planning to petition D.C., apparently, lamenting the loss of £2 million on her family's important activities, such as flying around in helicopters, perpetuating the class system, and dressing up as Nazis at dubious parties. The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall notched up the largest travel bill – a £446,159 tour of Mexico and Colombia, a £239,710 tour of the United States and Charles’s visit to the Middle East, which cost £262,212 – all of them using charter flights.
Royal travel costs rose to £5.1m, up 21% on 2013-4. The Duke of York spent £62,856 on a charter flight to Kuwait and £43,343 on a charter to Saudi Arabia. Prince Harry’s tour of Brazil and Chile cost £43,872 on scheduled flights and £41,754 on charter flights.

In other news, Nicola (butter wouldn't melt) is accused of following violent SNP internet trolls and happily chatting to them.
