I expect that in the event of being in a War the Scottish would adopt the Italian position :rotfl:

It would make a change, wouldn't it?

A SCOT who became Britain’s most decorated soldier for his audacious exploits during the Second World War – which included single-handedly forcing a column of German troops and SS Panzer tanks to surrender – has died at the age 94.

If Scotland doesn't want Trident, and however many jobs go with it, there are many other parts of the country that do.

    Indeed.

Perhaps the SNP should campaign for the 'moving of Trident', off Scottish soil/water, rather than the 'scrapping of Trident'.

This is much more achievable (not quite a red line, more a pink line that's been through the wash).

Ukraine is not currently part of NATO and their defence budget is not represented on the graph.

Hard to see how you are correlating the two

what has Ukraine got to with Finland and the Baltic states ?

but, as I recall you were a little confused about their history

ISTL - your character has changed a lot since last September,; either you are now at least one other person or you have been to an SNP finishing school.
    Union, not Disunion

I have a Right Wing and a Left Wing.
It's the only way to fly straight.

Oh Dear, you make a comment about Putin's remarks about Russia's Geopolitical catastrophe of the 20th Century and then are not aware of what he was referring to.

He was of course referring to the break up of the Russian Federation and with the Ukraine heavily in the news of the last year, I'm dissapointed but not surprised this slipped you by.

I'm aware that Russia has had military intervention with Ukraine. I'm not aware of any military intervention with Finland or the Baltic States.

Of course, your "hatred" towards me as a Scot dictates that you must make up an argument with any post I make ;)

    Have a great day Clapton

Has it changed? I hadn't thought so?
Maybe there was less political discussions before then.

As always, I like to openly debate and discuss.

Having a differing viewpoint or belief should not castigate you from the debate or society.

P.S. Not an SNP member, just a voter. Remember, I abstained from voting SNP in 2010 because of my strong beliefs and SNP's stance on Al Megrahi so I can stand against them as well.

It merely seems that the growth in support for the SNP has riled some non SNP voters ;)

    bizarre

Defense is about the future as much as the present.

The case for strong defenses is to deter hostile action in the future:

sadly I know I can't predict the future so I feel its best to have a strong defense capability.

Your on the wind up suggesting that the two parts would fight on different sides.

You have the royal Regiment of Scotland (Infantry), RAF bases (Air force) and Naval Bases (long discussed on these pages)

Why couldn't they be devolved such as the Police, the Fire Service, The Ambulance Service etc etc etc?

    Your making excuses

This is beyond parody. You must be taking the mick.

Scotland had the opportunity to have her own army and voted against it. Separatists can't just separate everything anyway and just say they're still in the UK. Some things (military, foreign policy) can only be done centrally. It's ludicrous to suggest otherwise.
