Surely if you want the Scottish Assembly to take ownership, you have to give FFA.
I think we are quite a way down the road away from getting to that stage.
Only independence would give Scotland power over defence.0 -

Only independence would give Scotland power over defence.
Again, a statement of neverending dicatorship?
Why can't this be devolved?
We already have Education, Law, Police, Fire, Ambulance Services etc devolved.
There is calls and a motion for the Coast Guard services also to be devolved.
Why couldn't Defence also be devolved?Nothing is impossible; there are ways that lead to everything, and if we had sufficient will we should always have sufficient means. It is often merely for an excuse that we say things are impossible.:wall:

Because you could have two parts of the same country fighting on different sides in the same war!!!
This is a wind up, right?0 -

Your on the wind up suggesting that the two parts would fight on different sides.
You have the royal Regiment of Scotland (Infantry), RAF bases (Air force) and Naval Bases (long discussed on these pages)
Why couldn't they be devolved such as the Police, the Fire Service, The Ambulance Service etc etc etc?
Your making excusesNothing is impossible; there are ways that lead to everything, and if we had sufficient will we should always have sufficient means. It is often merely for an excuse that we say things are impossible.:wall:

In fact, why not create a link through England to join the Atlantic with the North Sea to save the subs going around the country?illegitimi non carborundum0 -
I would, but you lot would start banging on about infrastructure spending in the South East again, and why cant the Southend to Weston-Super-Mare canal go via Glasgow
Good one.
Just get your EVEL plans in place and have an English Only Budget.
No problems then:wall:

Ukraine is not currently part of NATO and their defence budget is not represented on the graph.
Hard to see how you are correlating the two:wall:
