If it's any consolation, the SNP will have a place on every Select Committee and possibly a chair or two.
Every Select committee ? That's interesting; that will keep them busy.

I suppose there will be some "English Only Committees" which they can't join, when they implement the English-only voting system for English matters. That will be a fruitful source for a lot of whinging there methinks.

I quickly tire of all this post election grandstanding to be honest. We don't really know how all these new MPs will perform yet.

    To me it's simple.

    - The public have chosen.

    - Let all the new MPs come down and meet each other.

    - pretty soon they are going to have to get down to the mundane business of daily politics. SNP and LibDems and Tories and Labour alike.

The worst outcome for me would have been a protracted period of minority government. Hopefully things are clearer now.

what a very truthful post, Labour have been useless here for a long long time

they were democratically elected by the scots
but come independence then I'm sure the lads will sort things out OK

some scots will be more equal than others

PM has spoken; Scots devolution 'as fast as possible' and has to include 'fairness for England'.
Scrap Barnett, fiscal independence, stand on your own feet - and no mummy to catch you if you fall.
In all the excitement I forgot to check the price of crude this morniing - oh yes, $60 a barrel.

If your going to pick up on grammatical errors, should someone point out the lions were not around in the Triassic, Jurassic or Cretaceous Periods?

What about the Welsh, do they get to join?

Like it or not, the Conservatives are no longer Unionists ;)

She no longer wants to be the submissive and doing only what the dominant older brother allows.

    She wants to grow up.

Forget the silly analogies from others.

Scotland remains a part of the United Kingdom and the majority of Scots want to remain part of the United Kingdom yet at the same time have voted for the party that wants Scotland not to be part of the United Kingdom.

So what happens? The SNP have little power to disrupt AFAICS but they form a large enough group to engage positively with the process.

We live in interesting times. Time will tell what will happen.

Oh we all have our grammatical blind spots.

My own is using "less" when I should be using "fewer".
