Salmond and Sturgeon Want the English Fish for More Fat Subsidies

I don't think you can assume that Scotland voting SNP in a gerneral election mean that the people of Scotland want change as far as independence is concerned. I know many who were happy to vote SNP who will still never vote for independence should there be another referendum.
I was talking about indy ref faces ... many new MP's voted for by the people of Scotland were prominent faces during indy ref ... take from that what you will ... I know I will0 -

Looks like a Tory majority which should mix interestingly with the huge SNP win. Who on earth will be Secretary of State for Scotland? Perhaps David Cameron will offer it to Alec Salmond! Ha ha...
Anyway this result looks to pave the way for a federal UK to me. I cannot see just transferring a few more powers over being tenable especially as the Tories have English votes for English laws in their manifesto. Full fiscal autonomy may appear on the table within months.
yep ... anyone could see that0 -

English votes for English laws is simply levelling the playing field. Why should Scottish votes be allowed on English laws when you will not allow the reverse? What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

It looks like David Cameron will have a strong enough support to push this through.
He wins 2 ways. It's a vote winner for the English where Conservative support is at it's strongest, and it bolsters the SNP, thus wounding Labour further.
The Tories know how to act in self interest.0 -

TV pundit's assessment: "The SNP have 50+ seats & no power whatsoever."
They must be absolutely gutted at the way Labour collapsed in the rest of the UK.0 -

I don't agree
the SNP have the best result :
They will remain pure and unpolluted with having been saved from having to vote on any difficult issues and can now vote for more money for Scotland, more borrowing, more money for Scotland, more spending, more money for Scotland, higher taxes on the rich, more money for Scotland all with huge applause in Scotland.
They can now concentrate on winning a landslide in the 2016 Scottish elections and decide the tactics for the next referendum.
Is it best to wait until after the EU referendum? Probably best but mustn't wait too long as events have a habit of happening.
Certainty is never certain.

Of course.
I'd much prefer that evenly balanced regions of the UK all vote honestly, and show their self interest.
The Conservatives can implement their austerity measures everywhere now, even north of the border.
It's not like they have MPs up there to worry about is it?0 -
