why does it matter that failed politicians have stepped down
How did they fail?
they won the referendum.
More like, say one thing and get out before your asked to explain why they haven't followed through:wall:
What we've got here is....... failure to communicate.

The problem with the referendum was the political panic and fudge at the end, with the vague concessions being offered regards further powers.
It just created resentment on both sides. The argument that people were bought off won't go away.0 -

Now what, exactly, is not being kept?Union, not Disunion

This General Election has become a proxy for another Scottish referendum, since the Scots certainly won't tolerate the Tories treating them like this. They will certainly want out at any cost if a Tory government or alliance is formed. Cameron is gambling with the Union just for the sake of getting his tired, elitist, corrupt bunch of Etonians back into power.
If you believe in the Union, vote anti-Tory.0 -

If you believe in the Union, vote anti-Tory.
If you believe in massive unfair extra money for Scotland, funded by massive more borrowing then vote anyone but Tory.
Do remember that the extra borrowing will all be repaid by the English, as Scotland will default on their fair share when they become independent.
Unusually clear blue water between the parties.0 -

Are you on speed mate? .....I mean surely there are only so many different ways in which you can say the same thing again and again and again and again!:rotfl:
I think it's fair to discuss repayment guarantees when considering any long term investments.
For example, I believe HS2 starting from Scotland is a SNP demand.
HS2 could easily take a decade to deliver and even the planning will run into hundreds of millions.
You have to discuss up front what payment arrangements will be in place should Scotland go independent before the link was completed.0 -

Wrong!
The Tories remain fully paid up members to the 'Barnett Formula Club'. Only UKIP want to scrap the subsidy.
As someone who lives in a semi-rural Tory constituency in SW England, the continuance of the inequitable funding we receive in comparison to Scotland is`nt the fault of Labour et al, its a betrayal done with the acquiescence of the Conservative Party.
Don`t be fooled by Cameron`s recent anti-SNP rants, he`ll give the Scots anything to keep them in the Union and the SNP know that.“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0 -

I agree up to a point.
Certainly Cameron, Nick and Ed were very hasty in the panic just before the referendum.
However, given Cameron's ambiguous comments since, I am hoping he will weasel his way out of providing unfair funding for Scotland. I don't think that Labour or LibDEms will even try.
In any event, I hope the SNP will commit electoral suicide by getting and winning a new referendum to resolve the issue for ever.0
