    Scottish law requires corroboration not two pieces of evidence. That means evidence from two different and independent sources. Unless the single source is considered to be an expert witness.

    When a lawyer told me years ago he explained it as two pieces of evidence; no doubt for my layman ears.

    This type of claim carries a lot of uninsured losses as its a fault claim if you are shunted forward.
    There can be several thousands of pounds of uninsured losses, increased premiums over years.
    A claims company can help get some of it back.

    Forget the phone bit, the real battle ahead is getting what you lose back.
    Focusing on that now will help.
