Hi,
My Norton anti virus software expires in a few weeks and it's £60ish to renew, which seems excessive.
Norton 360 Gold Edition is £29.99 in PC World. Is that the one that gives you overall protection, including firewall etc?

I'm not sure, but I'd imagine so. The latest version is £29.00 from Ebuyer (download)...

Windows ? To be honest I wouldn't bother with Norton, plenty of free ones around that are better in my opinion. Try Microsoft Security Essentials, AVAST, AVG etc0

You are kidding about MSE?
I know there's free protection, but personally I think it's worth paying for a better product, and in the latest tests I've seen, Norton's doing really well. Just get's a bad stick from a few years ago when it was bloated and poor.
£30 for a superior protection, what's that per day, pennies? I think it's worth paying for Norton, or Kaspersky. Just my opinion, I know others think free is just as good.0 -
Yeah, I tend to buy Norton antivirus and I'm going to again this time. I'm just not sure which is the right one as there's lots of Norton products and it's a bit confusing.
I just want the all-in-one protection for peace of mind.0 -

Yes you get all protection with 360.
I never renew through official renew links as you can always get it cheaper elsewhere0 -
it's surprising, on a site such as this, to see so many people dying to part with money for anti virus software, when they don't have to, in the belief that they are somehow better protected if they pay for a "full suite" whatever that is. The marketing of fear does work it seems.
Spongebob has the right idea, free is fine, but I'd skip the first recommendation, mse is the bottom of the pile, that doesn't make it useless, just not quite as effective as the others mentioned.
£30 x NN years x Xno of devices is not nothing.Don't you dare criticise what you cannot understand0 -

depends on what you use your computer for. but to OP if you bank with Barclays then you can get Kaspersky free and i think other banks offer security software. Lloyds used to offer Norton, so its worth checking with your bank0 -
It cost me £65 to renew my Norton 360 last week, it was £37 last year. Five minutes after I renewed, the sent an email offering to reduce the price from £60 to £55.
I could have bought new for less, but it's not very clear whether it's the same one, and I couldn't be arsed with all the aggro of installing it.0 -
£42 here http://www.amazon.co.uk/Norton-360-21-0-Computers-Subscription/dp/B00EOHI0N4 but NIS 2014 is approx £26 for 3 PCs0

I'm sorta confuse why people still use Norton whilst there are various other free antiviruses are available with quiet safe security features0
