Hi I am after some help urgently if you could spare a moment I would very much appreciate your advice.

1 would like a small 5 door car similar in size to a Ka as I know that will fit on my small drive.

2 cheap to run and repair, needs to be reliable I run people around in my job

3 no preference on make/model had fords and fiats in the past

4 I will need to pay on a c card as no savings

5 what does Cat C/D mean please

I have a 14 year old car road worthy taxed and MOT'ed it has served me well but has began to cost me money, so the time has come.

I know nothing about car's so any honest advice would be very much appreciated, thanks in advance:)

So a little petrol engine car?
Any you like the look of?
Fiesta is usually a safe bet, are lots of choices however :)
Cat c/d be easiest to avoid, save the worry or hassle - means they've been damaged at some point. Can be a bargain and worthwhile buy, but will only complicate things for you really.

Parkers will have all the specs on cars - mpg, weights, dimensions, ratings etc :)

At a glance it looks quite good, and should be a few to choose from.

Many thanks again and for explaining the CatC/D I thought it must have been something like that but now I know. Have a good evening.

  • Forget the rubbish Fords and Vauxhalls. If you want a reliable, problem free car get a Japanese car like a Honda or Toyota. They may cost a little more on the used market compared to the equivalent ford/vauxhall/fiats but they're also much better cars in terms of reliability.

A 2001-2006 Toyota Corolla springs to mind. 1.4 VVTI petrol would be a good bet.

If you like the looks of the Honda, get a 2001-2005 Honda Civic 1.4 petrol
