Quick clear windscreens fitted to Fords (the only thing I could compliment a Ford for) or old big-engined BMWs with more than one thermostat that heat up really quickly are better solutions!

This is an awful suggestion for the majority of people who frantically scrape away with whatever is to hand upon realising that the ice threatens to make them late for work.

I think the patent has expired now, so hopefully more manufacturers can do this.

Just read the new Corsa has a heated screen.

Yes, brilliant aren't they. Get in, start the car, scrape the side windows and by the time those are done the front and back screens are defrosted and you are ready to go.

I find them a bit strange to look through through - the "dots" are distracting. I'd probably get used to it if I owned one, and be glad of it if I had a daily winter de-frost to do.

This may be revolutionary but I put my car in the garage having taken all the old crap I no longer need down the tip.

This is double bubble in that my car doesn't vandalised by the local toe rags on their way home after half a shandy.
It's taken me years of experience to get this cynical

So just hot water then? :)

Alternatively just pour luke warm water on the screen.
Which is far quicker, easier and much more effective then hanging around in the cold waiting for hot water bottles. ;)

That made me laugh. Mostly because I'm 35 and drive a Honda Jazz. I make fun of myself in my OAP-car all the time. At least the insurance is pretty cheap...

I dont even have to scrape the side windows on my Ford, even the wing mirrors have it. ;). About 30 seconds and my car windows are completely frost free. ;)
