Concerned I may not get a mortgage

  • I know that it sounds really backwards however the reason that we did it this way was because we were not sure how much we would get for our property and therefore had no idea what size deposit we would have.

Also because we were looking for a house in a very specific areas we did not expect one to come on the market so quickly and our intention was to sell ours and move to the mother-in-laws rent free as her property is empty as she has moved to Spain and is waiting for a dispute regarding land to be sorted before she puts hers on the market whilst we waited.
The vendor has accepted the offer however the house is still on the market until we get a DIP to the EA.
  • My credit report says 999 excellent. Even no that is a made up number, its a good number to have and nationwide must of liked it. I also have 1 missed payment on a credit card.

Not too sure my broker has sent me a pack to my email address, saying 1.89 fixed for 2 years. Seems really low to me that though.

great for all who have their dip or are near offer,
we are hoping to be in this position come november, we are busily paying of a credit card and saving the rest of deposit (we need at least 15% as i am a discharged bankrupt) my dh default drops off april 29th then he is clear
i hope the fact we have a nationwide mortgage already helps us and that we are saving the depoit in their save to buy scheme also helps

looking forward to reading more about the process good luck

  • Thanks; my credit score is loads less than yours but I will keep my fingers crossed that the broker finds someone to accept us.

I just want tomorrow morning over with.
  • I was feeling anxious all day. Then broker rang and said congratulations you passed credit check. It still hasnt sunk in. As i had 2 defaults at the age of 19 and havent been able to get credit for 6 years. Im just waiting for nationwide underwritters to decline it.
  • Im not feeling confident at all at the moment, I have just printed my credit files and bank statements ready for the meeting tomorrow.

I hope that I find someone who will take 100% of the bonus aspect of my salary as well as the 2 defaults and the arrangement to pay that is recorded....

I will let you know how I get on tomorrow.
