  • This is a good thread, as it sort of mirrors what i am hoping to go through in a month or two's time.

If i can ask one question though, have you already received your 'Authority to Proceed' from the Help to Buy?

It was my understanding this had to be granted before making full mortgage application, after all the application is useless without having the guarantee of the equity loan from HTB.

Or are you not using the scheme??
  • The answer to that is on the 1st page. Yes they are using help to buy equity loan.

Not without knowing when the valuation might be done.

Anything from three days to three weeks would be best guess.

Survey is booked for Monday 2nd Feb :)
  • Whats the diffrence between survey and a valuation?? And how much did it cost?

I think it's the same thing, but not totally sure... We paid £230.
  • So if the survey comes back ok you have your mortgage offer im guessing. Exciting times. Ive got my DIP on the 2cnd of feb so hopefully we will both have a good day :-)

Yep, because our DIP was referred with Nationwide, it should have already been underwritten, so hopefully it's all just subject to the valuation. Which, on a new build property, I'm guessing is mostly just a formality.

    Good luck for Monday :)
