In pain 247

For the past year, I have been suffering from very painful feel, painful upper left arm, and now my left hand has started as well around the thumb muscle area.

I have a low thyroid and heart condition, but I had to have some blood test done this morning.

My feet in particular are in pain 247 and am in tears with walking.

When I last had a blood test done around 6 months ago they said my red blood count was low but didn't seem to worried about it.

I've also had low folic acid issues previously.

Friends have told me it could be fibromyalgia, and others neuropathy.

I am just so fed up with being in pain 247 and dont know how to handle it.

Please help!

Benefits will not make your pain go away. See your doctor.
  • Concur - your GP is your first port of call. If pain is constant it would Most likely be neuropathic, but if it just hurts when you move your feet then it might be muscular. Fibromyalgia is arthritis of the muscles & maybe helped by excluding foods high in Oxalic acid. Neuropathic pain can sometimes be helped by taking Vitamin B complex supplements, but ask your GP first.

I did have some blood tests done 6 months ago and I was low on folic acid and so gave me a course of tablets.

Did nothing to stop the problems though.

I was also low on red blood cells but the gp didn't seem too concerned.

I've just phoned the gp and got an appointment for the 16th January.

Thanks for the advice, I'll ask about what you've said for them to check as well.

Ordinary painkillers dont seem to do nothing!

I can feel it when walking, and moving around in doors.

I'm in tears most of the time!!

Fibromyalgia is not arthritis... arthritis effects the joints, fibro is a syndrome that has many factors to it...
Op there is no blood test for fibro but your first port of call should be your GP.

Contact your Doctor. S/he should prescribe you some effective pain relief if you are in such pain. It's ridiculous in this day and age that someone has to suffer like that. :(

Your blood test results will be available to your Doctor so when you see him/her on the 16th, they will be in a better position to diagnose you properly.

I can't begin to imagine what being in constant pain must be like. I do hope you get appropriate treatment.

Hi, I have just suffered months of pain, right ankle any sort of weight on it was excrutiating. It felt as if I was walking of broken fragments of bone. All down to my bone loss and arthtritis. I have an appointment for Thursday, thinking I might end up getting an injection or something.

A few months ago I had a bad back and this was down to muscles, and the doc gave me some Feldene Gel,
I cant use Voltarol because I have heart meds. Unbelievaly, 2 days after using this Felden twice a day I am pain free..... No problem whatsoever....
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.
  • I should get the blood results back end of the week as it usually takes around 3 days.

The 16th January was the earliest appointment I could get in the meantime!!

Thats the other problem I have I'm on thyroxine and am on atenolol which is a beta blocker, so the gp needs to be careful what pain relief I can have!!
