Is a dealer service worth it?

I'm just under 10 miles from my dealer and they do collect and return for free for me. Worth a thought, certainly saves me the hassle of taking it or messing about with courtesy cars.0

People expect to pay for a service, and will use it to haggle,
but nobody will consider it wrong, because that's what they will do themselves. 12 months MOT is the main thing.0 -

You can get it serviced wherever you want and it won't effect the warranty providing the work is carried out to the manufacturers specification.

That's not what I was getting at.
Of course you are free to get your car serviced elsewhere, however warranty work will still need to be done at the dealers. Not that it matters anyway, as the OP has found out and I usually find, it's cheaper at the dealers.0 -

But, looking at the Honda website, its £155 for the service and £35 for the MOT if done at the same time. Cheaper than the other place, though not as conveniently located.
I live in North West Surrey, close to Berkshire."We act as though comfort and luxury are the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about” – Albert Einstein0 -

Apologies my mistake, although I'd question the cheaper at the dealer bit but then I'm an Indy so I would.0 -

Just cheaper than this one place I found very close to me. This will most likely be the last time it's going to the dealer as it is still under warranty and I do actually want them to look at the suspension (sometimes I hear creaking sounds coming from the front wheels, it's probably nothing, but I'd like some reassurance, and if it is a problem, I would obviously like it fixed under warranty).
Next time definitely going indy0 -
yes, many good service providers are there in australia, and one good place is in sydney, They provide good services for all type of vehicles for a normal amount, and they also having the services like scrap car for cash.0

It's probably a bit far for the OP to travel to Sydney. The shipping charges would probably outweigh any savings made in the price of servicing.
1/10 for the attempted spam, please do try a little harder next time and make it at least a bit less obvious. Oh, and brush up on your English as well, moron.0 -

It works out cheaper for me because if I use an indie I then have to take my car to the dealers and pay for them to do a warranty extension check. I think it's only £20-£30 but still an added expense.
If the dealer services it, then there's no fee to pay. They also do a price match with local garages which helps too.
The other small thing to consider is the paint and perforation warranty on the car, most policies have a clause that the car has to be inspected by the dealer every 1 or 2 years. Although hopefully most modern cars shouldn't be rusting that quickly (Dacia excluded).0
