I've evicted the surplus chair from my office and replaced it with a chest of drawers from the overcrowded spare room (it matches the office furniture as in my old house the office was in the spare room).

Now I have to work out what it is sensible to keep in there...

:) Hi, my name is GQ and I only have one chair and am feeling soooo inadequate.:rotfl:

It's a folding one from Ikeya, I think. Is the desk chair, the dining chair, the everything chair. Three peeps can sit on the sofa and if I have more company than that, I sit on the floor. But I do have 4 deckchairs in the lottie shed,

  • My Broadband connection has been Kondoed :( - apparently they need a cherry-picker to fix the line. However, it might do me good to spend a bit less time on the Internet!

Clutterfree, paperwork was the worst category for me. Take a rest for a few days, re read the Book and you'll get back into it because everything else will seem easy after that!

GQ - if you ever need an extra chair, just let me know :)
  • 3 chairs in the bedrooms, 5 in the kitchen (the table extends to seat 8, but never has) 2 in the LR plus 2 x 3-seater sofas and a bean bag and 2 cast iron chairs outside with a little cast iron table. DH is off to iykyea next week to buy another! So we could seat 20 if we needed to:D:rotfl::). No competition for Greenbee though xx

:p Lol, does it come with some free space to stand it in? I'm toying with the idea of a second folding chair, which would mostly live in the shed, but come up to the flat if necessary (bike shed is about 15 m from the flat) but haven't committed to one yet.

Of course, if I saw something suitable for silly money, I'd rethink.

Righty, going offline to read before an early night. I'm dotting between some Sward and Saucery * and an old The Saint paperback.

    Cheery-bye, lovely peeps.

I have been keeping up with the thread but not doing much kondo ing (RL! ).

A small victory meant I could take a nice JL mirror to CS. It's been waiting to be set free for a couple of months but because it cost good money and it was like new DH was not for getting rid. So it sat on top of my occasional table, bugging me. :( Anyway, we were darting out of the door yester and he reminded me to take a small bag of books for the charity shop and I said, 'yes, that mirror needs to go too', just grabbed it, said it really was time to let it go..... and off we all went!

The CS loved it and I am sure the new owner will too. It was such a relief not to have it, in the wrong place, nagging at me!! :T

The discussion about chairs led me to ponder the issue this evening. We don't have many (I do think we could let 2 go but not going to win that argument just yet......given me time ;) ). The main trouble is that the 2 in the kitchen are not really used, the folding table in there is obscured by them and the table and chairs are in the way of a bookcase. It's the tetras problem again, folks!

I am pondering how best to deal with that 'jumble' and am thinking that I'd be better getting a different table, that actually fits the useable space. Something to mull over. I will find a joyful solution but it may take time :D

The whole thing made me wonder how to better use the bookcase, which DH uses as a sort of desk, depositing his work diary, mobile, keys, invoices, etc on as he comes home each evening. So, sorry for the rambling, but one thing led to another and I have found a couple of sturdy boxes so he can 'file' his stuff, it won't avalanche off the top if a butterfly flaps its wings, and it will look neat.

Am now feeling joyful, after being a bit despondent about lack of progress.:)

sometimes the easy, and probably fairly obvious solutions take while to surface, but they do come, and then it's..... JOYOUS :D

So, I Queen, you WILL get your mojo back. It maybe Boho mojo, but you'll get it.

I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.

    Chairs :o
    1 in each bedroom (2),
1 in OH's den (aka third, smallest bedroom),
Set of 6 dining chairs in the dining room (antique and very joyful)
Plus an extra wooden armchair thing (pretty and comfy)
2 armchairs and a sofa in the lounge
1 chair that converts to a stepladder in the porch (quite handy)
2 garden chairs (OH made these out of skip finds, cast iron and teak, very joyful)
Plus 2 more folding ones in the garage
    2 camping chairs (for camping)

No shortage of places to park one's behind here  :rotfl:
Thing is, I am rather fond of all of them :o And they do all get used, on occasion :)

Come to think of it, there is yet another one in the loft :o THAT can go!!! And one at the bottom of the upper staircase - aaargh!!!!
