It was very sad and must have been so hard for the man.Such a nice man but at least he found a good home for his wifes things which I think made him feel a bit better. But was so glad he didnt come to the fete to see most of it sold. One lady I sold £55 worth of clothes to  and it was manic to start with.I wouldnt have liked him to have seen that
But he did have a sense of humour and said to me if you find a fiver in any of the pockets its mine :rotfl:
The clothes we had left are in my spare room  along with the rail and a load of really nice new shoes which I will now put on FB/or The Bay.So looks like I will still be cluttered up even after the feteNeed to move it on pretty quick or it will drive me insane
Also two big trays of plants which I will stick outside my gate and hope passing people will buy them I am normally quite lucky with that type of thing
Another thing is I lent my Bible to my 82 year old friend and she just rung me and said yesterday I was half way though that book and that bl**dy women drove me mad whittering on so I put it down in disgust. But I started tidying :rotfl:and do you know what'I have lived in this house 30 years and I still have stuff packed from when I moved 30 years ago. She then said as I was looking at all this stuff the Bl**dy womens words were in my head. And I realised I have never completely moved in to this house in 30 years:eek: She said in my head I have never moved inI have been keeping all this stuff as I needed it in my past life and for my kids ! But my kids wont want this will they ? I am living like this for someone else and not myself :rotfl: Can you pop down next week and help me clear out clothes and shoes that I have hung on to since I retired from work in the 80s:rotfl:I am just bl**dy stupid arent I
Maries magic is starting to work and she is going to finish the book today

Part worn clothes - I have a stool in my bathroom ( one with legs on!!!) and I fold my clothes and put them on there for another wearing or two. The bathroom is a good size so they're not in the way and out if sight!
Have a good day all x
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Glad its that type of 'stool' and not the other lurking out of sight in the corner of the bathroom :rotfl:

Oh, greenbee, the chairs, the chairs! Having had an antiques/flea-market business, I have far too many! A pretty orphaned chair is usually so cheap.
OMG! I've just counted EIGHT in my LR! And there are more scattered through the house. Why? Why? WHY? I will never need that many chairs! :
I have 8 dining chairs, 2 kids chairs, a high chair and an adjustable tripp-trapp chair in the dining room (I don't have kids  just lots of visiting ones). A chair in the utility room. One in the bathroom. Three in my bedroom. Three in the spare room. Two in another bedroom. 7 in the garage plus four folding ones, 4 folding garden chair, 2 garden benches, a wooden armchair by my 'home' (as opposed to 'work' desk), 2 sofas and two chairs in the sitting room and am just moving a rather large, not very beautiful armchair from my office to the garage (friend who is moving house may want it, if not, it's off to the CS).
I should probably have a party...0 -
Talking of chairs and parties....we had a fireworks and bonfire party one year as we had a lot of old furniture etc to burn....no one wanted to stand up coz their chair would go on the fire lol
We have a 6 seater table but I only built 4 chairs and use a folding one if all 5 of us at table cos it's too big for where it goes lolHave a Bsc Hons open degree from the Open University 2015 :j:D:eek::T0 -
This is a fabulous thread.I have followed for many months and its is definitely for me and I need to get started.BUT....
I am overwhelmed by the task ahead but mostly fearful although I'm not sure what that is about.Has anyone experienced similar and have any tips or advice as how to deal with that?
Get the Bible and just start !You will be fine.My thoughts change all the time now my mind is more open
And my eyes even more open than my mind :rotfl:
It can be fearful as you know you will have to deal with thoughts, memories and bad habitsSometimes during the process even though I am not a plodder and did it quickly some times you need to slow down so your head can catch up with you. There is no right or wrong way its what works for you. So if you just think that you really cant go wrong.
So take a deep breath and jump on that roller coasterand think that roller coaster is scary but the most scary part is sitting in that car being strapped in and waiting for it to start ! the jouney exilarating and scary with many ups and downs and at times you wished you had never got on that ride but when it stops you feel so pleased you had the guts to get on it
That sums up the whole kondo factor for me
Good luck to all the newbie kondoitesMy name is Mavvymoo and I believe in this process 100% and no one will ever tell me any different

I seem to have stalled and lost my Kondo-mojo!
It was paperwork that did it - such a laborious task and no instant results gratification.
I think I need to reread our bible...Ageing is a privilege not everyone gets.

Far too much clearly! Maybe I'd get more done with fewer chairs?
Part of the problem is that the house is a 'project' so I don't know what furniture I'll end up using when I'm done. At the moment it is constantly being moved around the house as various bits of work happen. Luckily I have a large garage. but the small spare room is still way too cluttered (I keep my work clothes and sewing stuff in there, but there isn't really room for it all with a bed in there too... however I do sometimes need the bed as I frequently have a houseful of people.0 -
Been away for a few days and have 8 pages to catch up on  I may be some time:rotfl:Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi
