CF - I seem to remember that your'colours' are for life - you just move towards different areas of your spectrum. As you've had them done before is there a 'refresher' you could do? I was balking at the price for 90 mins when I had a whole day for £45 and lunch ( but it was nearly 30 years ago lol!)
Just the two of Us - so glad you enjoyed your day - its surprising how much of a boost it gives you and how much more focussed and confident you feel with your clothes.
Tbh mum lost her swatches years ago and I think what it will do for her morale will be money well spent. We went to an independent years ago so this will be a different company this time.
She has been my step dad's carer for the past 4 years and he will be having a week in respite soon - her first break in 4 years - and I want the focus to be on her. I don't want her to spend her week cleaning, etc. She needs to be pampered so I thought colour analysis followed by shopping for clothes and make up. She needs to find "her" again if that makes sense?Ageing is a privilege not everyone gets.

What a lovely thing to do, CF:T:T If you feel she may want to do a deep-clean without your step dad there is there any chance she's let someone come in for 3-4 hours and do it for her instead?
(We used to have a cleaner in for 2-3 hours a week and it made such a difference as to how I felt (4 small children at the time) - the whole house was vacuumed and polished, floors mopped, bathrooms cleaned etc - whilst I could get all of that done (eventually) in the week, having it all done on one day really lifted my mood (which needed it at the time!) )

Ooooh, you fibber, you! I am desperate to get one of these calls so I can torment someone but they don't seem to have my number. The folks get several of them a day, but no one wants to try to extort money or take over my computer.
Just think, they could get all my important data like ..... err..... my recipes?
I was busy at the time or I might have come up with something a bit better lol
It's looking like I have nothing left to kondo but house still looks cluttered and bothers me argh.
On holiday next week the. Need to replace flooding in back room, maybe things will look better thenHave a Bsc Hons open degree from the Open University 2015 :j:D:eek::T0 -

Amazing day yesterday having my colours, style and make up done. Today I am re-visiting my wardrobe to see what must go - not much I think but I do need to try on all my t shirts to check the sleeves. I am apparently a cool, clear, deep and style a natural classic!! Soft rectangle shape (for that read not much waist!!) The only things I really have to bin are two yellow Tshirts and the scarf I bought on holiday - and perhaps my lovely ch shop coat - but we'll have to see about that?!
My make up was absolutely amazing - I have eyes!! We went out last night and DH expressed concern that now I've lost so much weight and am looking so good I'd be looking for someone else - durr - who'd have me? Just hope I'll be able to replicate the eye make up easily! watch this space. Also learned how to scarf tie - two different ways so I don't look like an egg on top of an egg cup!! The other bonus was a list of suggested items for a capsule wardrobe and knowing that neutrals "don't count as a colour" so I can wear a neutral - say grey navy taupe or black skirts and two colours on the top. Just putting a necklace on over my top made such a difference - to how I looked and felt. This has been the best experience ever and worth every penny. Just wish I had known about it or had it done years' ago!
Can't wait to get up so I can get on but it's a little too early!!
Have a good weekend everyone. xx
I am so glad you enjoyed itYes I would agree its worth every penny.I did have to buy a few things in Grey and Charcoal and a Soft Silver Grey. So easy to get dressed now and I also go as she said with how I feel that day:) But she did say I was one of the lucky ones as I could really wear what I liked as long as it was Classic style and good Quality
Good job I am a Charity shop addict !
Sleeve length was also one she mentioned on mine and I cant wear sort of cap sleeve length if it is in line with my bust as it does look terrible on me and I look and feel like a body builder :rotfl:So try that one everyone if its a short sleeved top some length sleeves really do look far better than others. Strange but true
Cutlery sets I have a W*dgewood set which I got on sale reduced from an RRP £850:eek: Who the hell would pay that I would never know  many years ago. It has 12 of everything apart from tea spoons mine only has tiny coffee spoonsMaybe thats why I got it so cheap but there was no spaces in the box for them so not missing. I just didnt notice. So if people ask for sugar when they come to mine I have to double the amount I give them :rotfl:They watch me and think I am trying to kill them off
I do hate going out to eat and getting flimsy cheap cutlery it really puts me off the place.
I wish I had the Windows telesales people phone me again. I miss them :rotfl: After Susan/Chardonay and Gary / Towel calls I have had no more so I could have been crossed off the list now :(How disapointing. But as a lot of you have been getting them maybe it will be my turn soon

I'm going to pull a couple of things out of the clothing and add to the chazzer bag and drop it off on the way up to the allotment. Well, detour on the way up to the allotment, but it will still be more efficient than making a special journey later in the day.
Keep up the good works, lovely peeps, GQ xxEvery increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Oh, yes, thanks msgnomey, i'll add clothing to the stuff i take in - i am having trouble getting DH on board but as an ex-housing officer he has huge respect for the Salvation Army work with homeless people. I reckon he'll happily tip up socks, coats, jumpers etc. Great idea. :T
I think that having an altruistic reason to deal with excess items gives another impetus to the procedure.
maman, that's a great idea for how to decorate glass jars. I am the least artistic person in the world and would never attempt decorating amything but i reckon i could trace a pattern through the glass. Thank you! :T
iQueen, i while ago you suggested doing small repair projects as a way to boost confidence...... well I got carried away with this idea and today i will be * drum roll * taking apart and cleaning DH's chainsaw. How hard can it be??
He's so busy at the mo and I do love a good tinker with things. He has provided me with some leather gloves so my fingers should be safe from the teethHe says it will be full of sawdust and oil residue and just needs cleaning but there are lots of fiddly bits including between the blade parts. Soooo, will report back later, hopefully will still be able to type with both hands!!!

Not posted in ages but been reading every day.
Kondoing slowed down somewhat here (paperwork stall, anyone?!).
I've been pretty down and there's definitely a correlation between that and not wanting to kondo and wanting eat rubbish.
That said, 7 bags to charity over the past three weeks so stuff is going out.
Areas I have Kondoed have remained tidy so that is good.
CF That's me exactly! You are not alone, and I'm comforted that I'm not. Paperwork is the pits, it must have been breeding. I've just shredded all the paperwork from my last house sale and purchase - loads of it  - only 25 years old! Have also got rid of the paperwork for first car (bought 1973) and second car (bought 1977) now both in the Great Scrapyard in the Sky.
And the rubbish eating - - I put it down to the emotional stress of getting this carp sorted, it takes more out of me than I would think possible. Also not helped by the Great British Cake Fight starting again - after watching that all I want to do is eat (cake!):rotfl:“Tomorrow is another day for decluttering.”Decluttering 2023 🏅🏅🏅🏅⭐️⭐️

Morning Kult Members!
I was going to spend a few minutes :rotfl: catching up on the posts! You have all been very busy... posting on MSE!
Haven't time now, so I expect I'll be trawling through them until the small hours later!
My pregnant daughter, her partner and their dog are visiting this weekend - no they are not staying with me, thank goodness! Can't imagine the havoc of a young dog in my tip!
Off to get ready so, at least I will be decent. Sorted out 2 outfits for today and tomorrow from the the kondoed wardrobe, and am content that I shall look like ME, and be comfortable and attractive! Thanks MK!
Have a joyful day - I will be!Needs, NOT wants!

Got a kondo plan brewing and cant wait to get started. Will explain later.:D
At 6 am this morning I kondoed the OH and DD2...........not permanently:eek: They will be away 'from it all' now for about 9 days and my personal home alone staycation has begunThis is my kondo plan. It has been planned for months and I have been soooo looking forward to it. Means I can set the default button and revert to type - when I am on my own I dont make meals as I am a grazer by nature. So that is no interruptions for cooking shopping and eating. No taxi service. No laundry services. Just the purrballs to talk to ( I do have plans to meet up with friends tomorrow and an evening in with the 'inner circle' towards the end of next week!) I can be a night owl and not feel guilty about sleeping in or I can be up with the lark and not worry about disturbing anybody with a vigorous vacuum
So it sjust me and my cluttery carp and a kondo mission:rotfl:
Just having a break as today I have booked myself an 8 hour undisturbed shift in the garden - suns out and now the coffee is made. So I am off to enjoy it:DBe the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi
