    re glass jars

use glass pens to decorate them, pop in a tea light and give as a gift! you can even print out a picture/pattern you'd like to use and place it inside the jar to use a template/pattern to follow

Well, I mulled it over, thought about giving to the PTA but the school is very well funded and I'd prefer a more needy cause. Then it came to me, I'll donate to the Salvation Army.

That's a conversation I've been having with myself. My CS of choice (local charity with a sensible pricing policy) closed down last week because of end of lease. What I've kondoed this week is ready to take and I've been thinking where shall it go. Was considering sharing between local children's hospice shop and SA so you've helped me decide. Thank You.:)

Delighted to report that DH is aware that kondoing is happening in our home(he's a slow learner;)). Today he's voluntarily sorted out a few drawers of socks, shirts and jumpers. I'm delighted. If he wants to play copycat I'm up for it!!!
  • I used to keep glass jars, too - a hang up from childhood I think (mum used to make a lot of jam). I had a LBM recently when I investigated the jam-and-chutney cupboard and realised I have home-made marmalade from 2011; I rarely eat jam or similar stuff as I don't eat bread any more, and it takes me months to get through a jar of chutters probably for the same reason, not making sandwiches very often.

The jars are going on Freecycle. I do have brand new honey jars (if you are selling honey, it has to be in the right weight and in jars with new lids) so if I get a glut of stuff and want to make chutney, I'll use those. The likelihood of me ever using 30+ random glass jars is low.

  • Good morning everyone - wow two and a half pages to catch up on - you have been busy! Now I know where my missing knives forks and teaspoons are - with all your missing cutlery having a jolly good party!!

Amazing day yesterday having my colours, style and make up done. Today I am re-visiting my wardrobe to see what must go - not much I think but I do need to try on all my t shirts to check the sleeves. I am apparently a cool, clear, deep and style a natural classic!! Soft rectangle shape (for that read not much waist!!) The only things I really have to bin are two yellow Tshirts and the scarf I bought on holiday - and perhaps my lovely ch shop coat - but we'll have to see about that?!

My make up was absolutely amazing - I have eyes!! We went out last night and DH expressed concern that now I've lost so much weight and am looking so good I'd be looking for someone else - durr - who'd have me? Just hope I'll be able to replicate the eye make up easily! watch this space. Also learned how to scarf tie - two different ways so I don't look like an egg on top of an egg cup!! The other bonus was a list of suggested items for a capsule wardrobe and knowing that neutrals "don't count as a colour" so I can wear a neutral - say grey navy taupe or black skirts and two colours on the top. Just putting a necklace on over my top made such a difference - to how I looked and felt. This has been the best experience ever and worth every penny. Just wish I had known about it or had it done years' ago!

Can't wait to get up so I can get on but it's a little too early!!

Have a good weekend everyone. xx

    Morning All,
Not posted in ages but been reading every day.
Kondoing slowed down somewhat here (paperwork stall, anyone?!).
I've been pretty down and there's definitely a correlation between that and not wanting to kondo and wanting eat rubbish.
That said, 7 bags to charity over the past three weeks so stuff is going out.
Areas I have Kondoed have remained tidy so that is good.

I was explaining the art of my folding to my mum but she said she couldn't see how it would take up less space. Anyway we went to visit her last weekend and I went armed with photos of my drawers :o and my magic folding clothes thing.
I showed her my photos and she said I could give it a try. We didn't have time to kondo, it was merely a folding session. I folded all her tops and arranged them in colours and there was room left over! She was astonished and konverted! :T She says she keeps opening her drawers to look at them! Anyway I left her my clothes folder and ordered myself a new one. She says it's so easy to fold clothes after ironing and that she can now see all of her tops in the drawer so easier to make a choice. One thing I did tell her is that her "scruffy tops" drawer had far more in it than her nice tops drawer!
We are going to remedy that by getting our colours done first! :D

We both had our colours done about 20 years ago and we remembered how much easier it was to shop with our little swatches, but over the years we fell by the wayside...
Mum was a brunette back then but it now grey and white so i said I'll treat her to a colour analysis. Can't wait! She's my step dads carer and she really needs a pick me up and something just for her.

Who did you all use please? There's a Colour Me Beautiful consultant about 30 minutes from me, costs £105 for 90 minutes so that's looking favourite at the moment but open to suggestions. Thanks.

Right waffled on enough. I'll shall start posting more often because I think that helps keep up the momentum.

    Have a great weekend.
    CF xx

CF - I seem to remember that your'colours' are for life - you just move towards different areas of your spectrum. As you've had them done before is there a 'refresher' you could do? I was balking at the price for 90 mins when I had a whole day for £45 and lunch ( but it was nearly 30 years ago lol!)
Just the two of Us - so glad you enjoyed your day - its surprising how much of a boost it gives you and how much more focussed and confident you feel with your clothes.

Before I Kondoed the phone, I used to love toying with the Windows virus guys. Having worked in IT for 20 years comes in handy. :D
Aaagh Christmas, hadnt thought about that, what are we going to do with all the stuff we are given? I might have just finished Kondoing this house by then only to be given another 10 bottles of bubble bath. I feel panicked at the thought.

I intend to do more over the weekend. Long term my goal is to have as many clear surfaces as I can in the house to make cleaning easier. I have a few issues with OHs bedside table. MK says just to sort your own things and other people will follow but what if this doesnt happen?

Oh and we have a set of 3 rather nice steak knives. I am sure we started out with 6 long ago. Have no idea where the rest went!

We Kondoed gift giving years ago. Now if anyone gives anything, it's always consumable - usually wine for those that drink, chocolates for everyone else.
