Greyqueen, now just be careful that all those things out of the parental airing cupboard don't start speaking to Gary and his agent and getting ideas about unionisation, or collective bargaining, 'cos you'll never then get rid of them.:)
Beans grown in pots are now planted out, bean-wams up, watered, pots washed and left to dry. Tomorrow will sort them into keepers and recycling, a few have come to the end of their working life and need to go to recycling to come back as bin bags, or summat.
Judi, loved the picture of your immaculate bathroom cabinet, what a joy it must be to start the day without rooting among clutter and how simple to wipe that over once in a while.
I love having just one of anything out. I use the shampoo bottle, recap it, give it a brief wipe with the towel and put it back. It's never fluffy, dusty, smeary with drips of product on the outside. Simplicity is such bliss, don't you find?I have some more hg strawberries to eat. I am a lucky person.

Evening all
Spent yesterday kondoing 9 big bags of weeds from the school sensory garden it looks so much better now, this morning took a big bag of stuff to CS then me and Dh kondoed the vitamins we'd got a box full and most were out of date and no longer used. We now have three boxes in the cereal cabinet instead of a Tupperware container full on the shelf in the doorway.
Samosaed a load of carrier bags that someone (the boys) had just stuffed in the bag holder.
Have a lovely rest of the weekend all.SPC~12 ot 124

Of course thats not the extent of our toiletries. The other cupboard that was handmade to house my gas meter houses the rest of the bottles of shampoo etc. Its amazing how little you can get away with if you really want to minimize. I would love to post an photo of the baby bunnies but have no clue how
If someone can give me step by step instructions I will post a picture of them with pleasure as they are so cute
Can anyone help please. But once I can post photos there will be no stopping me.
2 big boxes and 2 big bags of my old coathangers have gone today. One big box put outside on the drive with a free notice and they have goneDidnt see who took them but was so excited when I saw they had vanished
The other load went via FB to the most lovely lady who I spent 1 hour 20 mins talking too :rotfl:Who was so interesting and a wonderful upbeat person.Who took the hangers to sell in a local animal charity shop. Which is about 5 mins from me and I have never been there before . The rescue centre is open to visit and she gave me some free entry vouchers
She is also having a stall at our village hall craft event :rotfl:
She has no end of rescue birds at her home and hedgehogs, cats and rabbits :rotfl: She saw my babies and was impressed and said they looked in good condition and were growing well
So I know where my kondo'd items will be going now as her daughter runs the charity shopSo really glad I met her and had the time to stand and chat.
Thank you Kondo as those coathangers would have hung around for another 2 or 3 years if it wasnt for youand I may never have met this hardworking lady with a lovely story to tell.

Sorry mav can't help with pics.
As for bathrooms I am trying to put the shampoo, facewash, shower gel and conditioner away each time. Trouble is I get in the shower and remember that they are still in the cupboard. I am working on the principle that if I keep at it I will remember. A few choice words have been spoken to self about this.
I am hoping to devote the whole of Sunday to kondoing. I need to start making decent progress again.0 -
Dunno if it's co-incidental but the ticker on the hoardingwoes blog which shows the country of readers is going UK-UK-UK-UK-UK-UK. Is that you, ladies? :rotfl:
.
Mavvymoo you need to load your pics to an online site like photobucket (free) and upload onto MSE from there.
Currently listening to rabbits on the campo (Spanish countryside) being Kondo'd .A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

GreyQueen, me too, i love rough towels. They're no good otherwise! I never use fabric softener, too perfumed for me.
Well once again RL got in the way. Had to have boiler replaced so Kondo'd a lot of money... spent all Friday morning cleaning dust, grit from every surface (had to reposition boiler totally so they had to extract one, fill big hole in stone cottage wall, open another hole and install new, then re-pipe a spider's web of pipework that's developed over the years). Then i went to visit my friend in hosp in the next town and then went to her house because she'd been admitted as an emergency 2 days earlier and so there were dirty dishes abandoned, food in the fridge gone out of date etc - I Kondo'd there!!
Soooooo, yesterday I dealt with all the kitchen items that had to be relocated to the new boiler cupboard. Not much that could be set free but I did take this Golden Opportunity to re-organise.
My very few pans are more accessible, cleaning products neatly in 2 baskets and so easy to see what's what and extract without a kerfuffle ( i realise I have
duplicates of some things, which makes me seem rather more enthusiastic than I perhaps am) and baking tins all easily visible so no swearing necessary next time I want get a loaf tin out!
Oh yes, and I re-lined the shelves:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: The shelves being some sort of
ply board that was, I think, flooring at one time. They are now covered in sticky - backed plastic in best Blue Peter style.
I would say that this journey has been slower than I hoped but to my mind the key things are these:
I've started it
I'm still doing it
I'm still doing it enthusiastically
I have totally kept the successes up to scratch
(even when rushing to bung something away I simply have to pause, think about the good work already done, and then put in correct place and, dare I say, smile to myself)
I am itching to get more done.
So progressing OK, really looking forward to the rest of the journey :j:j

Morning all.
Isn't it amazing how the KM way snowballs? I am finding things which had become invisible are suddenly moving into the foreground. Not physically moving, and they were always in plain sight, but have now suddenly become visible. Such as the piece of wood sitting in my broom cuboard. By the looks of it, it was drilled to be a shelf support and not used - all the shelves which were put into that cupboard and the airing cupboard are fully supported. So why am I keeping this 8 inch length of 2 x 1?
Dunno. So am taking it to the allotment to add to the sack of wood bits which will form the core of this autumn's bonfire.
There seems to be a class of kipple which needs a name, if any of you witty people can think of one. The stuff which clearly came off something (dunno what), was made for some purpose (dunno which) and which has lurked in cupboards for many years -and sometimes many homes - (dunno why). But which cannot be discarded because it is clearly Important and disaster will strike if it goes.
In a former employment, we had a few of these in the stationery cupboard. One was some kind of articulated bracket, maybe designed to hold a computer monitor. Its presence in the cupboard predated all the present employees. Even Da Management had no idea what it might be. But it looked Important and that it might have been Expensive, so it kept getting returned after every cupboard sort-out. It's probably still there!
Am easing into the day and then will go to the allotment to play around up there for a few hours. There may be something in the allotment shed which can be decluttered (trembles slightly at the prospect). Have a good one day, everyone, whatever you're up to.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Morning all. I'm new to the KM method. It made me smile when you all refer to it as Kondoing. Perfect! I was away on holiday when I read the book. It was so frustrating to be inspired but unable to act. Anyway, I'm back home now and raring to go. I'm starting in the kitchen with all of the 'invisible' stuff on the kitchen worktops, then I'll venture under the sink  I don't even possess a pair of tan leather shoes, so why do I have a tin of dried up tan shoe polish?
Ok. No time for chat. I'm excited to get started.Sealed Pot Challenge #8 £341.90

Cooking dinner last night & frying Rosti - the Rosti stuck on my old non-stick pan. I realised it always does as the nonstick doesn't anymore. Transferred to a newer pan. Old one washed and put in the recycle bin before tea finished cooking!Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0
