That Marie is SO unyielding in her softly spoken but 'I am right' dictat makes me a little uncomfortable.

I was just out in the car and was thinking that while I am happy to do just as you say I'd love to meet her, show her our house , our lifestyle and our needs and say.......well.....what do you think....., because I think she would be forced to adapt too.

I think you just have to take what you can use from the book. She sounds uncompromising in her opinions but that has made me stop and question the way I've always done things. Paper clutter is my worst problem and has been for years. I don't think I'll get it down to as little as MK seems to have but by considering what she has to say about it maybe I'll streamline it further than I would have done on my own.

Great info! It's good to know those clothes we get rid of are going to good use. I saw a textile recycling van on our High Street yesterday collecting bags of unsold clothing from the local charity shops. Now I have an idea of what happens to it all.

I am hopeless at doing links but loads of our old textbooks are going to Books Abroad - they have a facebook page and my nearest depot is in Aberdeenshire. The books are sent abroad to schools to use in teaching. They want DIY manuals, National Geographics, encyclopedias novels even ex library books.
Maybe someone can add a link.

    Ooooh, I'll look that up.

Our book recycling at the council tip pick some books for resale /reuse and send others ( inc things like text books for disposal. :( . ) I'd much rather take them some where of use!

I have the book on request from the library and am just trying a different way of folding or rolling things like towels or tea towels to get started.

We do stockpile stuff like toilet rolls, shower gel, soap and laundry powders or liquids when on offer. Sometimes there are seven of us staying here- usually only three or four so I like to have extra bedding etc but know when the house finally sells and we downsize that we will be able to get rid of a lot - probably to DDs if they want it.

Found DH looking confusedly at the drawer of rolled tea towels this morning ;) usually he just crams them in the drawer till it jams and nearly breaks but today he just gazed at the rows that filled the drawer and decided to use the clean tea towel instead.

Trying to convince him that stuff things in the wardrobe etc at random is making things difficult for him. I folded pyjamas for him and arranged them neatly on a shelf so they took up very little space but now they are just lobbed in at random again.

The cupboard in the kitchen that stores baking trays and tins is the bane of my life as everything will only fit stacked on top of each other and either falls around or makes a certain tray impossible to find. Bit the bullet and ordered a pan lid storer which should let me store them on edge and in some kind of order.
