Agreed Mav, I swear those old brown ones are in better condition than some of the new ones I saw on the shelf in the posh shop yesterday! There must be something magical in the drabness.

Crafty, I have a big bag of cables waiting to go to recycling as well. I wouldn't have a problem binning them but have a few other electrical bits to go that do need recycling so figured I'd save the lot for them.

Bin was emptied Thursday and it's already half full. Considering I thought I was done Kondoing, it's a bit

For those of you who are keeping electrical cables but want to avoid the wire equivilent of spaghetti junction, I came across this idea on Pinterest which works well

another pin suggests re/upcycling wine carriers from the supermarket to organise chargers which are bulkier because of plugs

(another idea I've since pinched from Pinterest is to use them in the bottom of my wardrobe for storing ballerina style pumps and flip flops).

    I've been Money Tipped!
Hi all, I've been AWOL due to half term, but back now! Last week I hung a bedroom mirror, so our room is now DONE!. Waiting for DH to do his wardrobe, but he says he is keen to do it. My office also DONE. DD room is done, and just got rid of the last couple of bits from there. Bathroom drawers and toiletries done. Downstairs loo done. Hallway and coat cupboard done - just kondoed a side table from there which makes it feel much more spacious.

I'm still (slooowly) going through books. I've also got DSs' room to go, plus the attic, which are both big jobs. The living room is the last frontier, and I don't feel keen at the moment, but I'm working up to it. I think we might get new sofas, and I want to give the room a complete revamp - fall back in love with it!

Have enjoyed catching up - thanks for all the inspiration.

Hi :hello: new Konvert here :)
I discovered this thread a few weeks ago after being pointed in this direction by flyladies! I haven't read the whole thread yet, but I have read a lot of it. I love the motivation and amount of support there is here :)
I have the book on kindle and just have the last chapter to finish. I am trying to follow the order MK has suggested. So far I have kondoed my tops, trousers, coats, underwear, nightwear & dresses. I have discarded over 200 items! 6 bags are in the back of the car, another upstairs (will be 2 by tomorrow, hopefully). The plan is to take them to cash4clothes (or similar) tomorrow.

Like a lot of people have already said - I keep admiring my drawers!! I am working this week, but the plan is also to finish kondoing my clothes - just shoes, bags, accessories, etc to go.

    Love the cable tidy idea.

I've taken two bags to the CS today. Great that they are open on Sunday now so I have no excuses not to get rid immediately. DH swapped over two paintings in the living room and I got out the cushions I bought well over a year ago. Been waiting to find matching fabric for to for my old cushions but it's not happened yet, so might as well enjoy them. They look really nice and it's becoming a wonderful place to sit and relax. It feels like a different room already, a joy to be in :)

Some great ideas in here and I am still excited to kondo everywhere.

It is so nice to hear other people say they are falling in love with their rooms again. I am partly there with my bedroom. I think I am going to buy some new bed sheets, my ones are so old and some are just mismatched, others I just cant find the pillows for. (how does that happen?) Am now folding the sheets in the cases to keep them together (nice tip I learnt ;) ) Kids sheets kondoed (grown out of) why do we keep them (this quote seems to reoccur!!)

One of the reasons we havent redecorated our bedroom is the thought of moving so much stuff, we have more furniture in there than we really need and dont even get me started on what was under the bed!!!

Now decorating seems like more of a possibility.

Going to be a busy week this week but I will try and do a little every day.

I only buy white bedding, norfolkdream. Everyhthing goes with everything, and it's easy to replace just parts of a set. And it looks so peaceful!
