I think everyone has some areas of their home that are carefully cared for, however bad the rest gets! My bathroom, toilet, bedroom (pre-clothes kondoing!), laundry and washing-up have to be perfect. The rest... don't ask! :( All probably due to my first jobs: chambermaid, then residential-home washer-up! ;)

If Floss has so much rhubarb, she probably lives in the Rhubarb Triangle! I don't have much luck with it either, sadly.

Yes I'm the same with my bathroom. Woe betide anyone who messes it up after I've just cleaned it. :rotfl:

Floss, are you up in Yorkshire? :)

We have fab rhubarb. Not in rhubarb triangle. One clump for main crop and another for forcing for early stems.

Agreeing with iQueen regarding landfill. Better a little money.......or if you can't be bothered for the small reward then give away.

    Thanks for the heads up!

I went along to read the procrastination post, but got diverted by the one on healthy/unhealthy relationships.

Some of us on here have kondoed friendships and marriages, so this was a seriously good read, and particularly enlightening for me. :T

I started to read the site its brilliant. I read the procrastination article its a real belly laugh only because I reconised myself in it. The thing is i found myself wanting to leave it and read the relationship article. I've kondoed a toxic friendship and still feel a bit guilty about it but she had to go.
Right off to drag around my gratification monkey through to the flow (read the procrastination articles theres 3) and get tea prepped.

No, am in that famous Lancashire coastal resort with a Tower ;)

Rhubarb benefits from a good shovel of manure in the autumn when no more pickings, plus I always chuck straw on as a winter blanket :)

We are self sufficient in fruit and veg and also make hams, chutneys and country liqueurs as gifts. We've learnt what we do & don't like - cgard won't get grown as it makes ones teeth squeak, and we eat a lot of veg based meals through the summer & autumn, in particular things like no-carbonara using courgette ribbons instead of pasta, and cassoulet with h/g borlotti beans.

I,ve got a file for each family member, and one for the house - still loads to do, but I,ve started.......:D

Like a few people on here my kitchen is small so want to use my storage wisely. Whilst washing up today, I was looking at the bottle/wine storage at either side of my oven. Whilst I do store cordial in some slots the others remain empty.

I tried to fit in the thin tub with samosa bags in and it fits perfectly. Only snag is the tub it bright pink! This means I can use these slots more wisely. However, the colour of the tub will not bring me joy! Has anyone any ideas.

Either to smarten these ones or some similar size. Roughly wine bottle size. My kitchen is beech/black with bits of purple.

Officially I borrowed these pink ones from my craft stall stuff and they will have to be returned at some point.

I am finding the Amazon trade in hard. Games not used, so no joy yet my old me keeps saying but that cost x and they are only going to give me so little for it. How do people get past this?

I have two rows of those darn wine cubbies in my kitchen as well. The tall but narrow OXO Pop square containers fit perfectly in them, but any containers made to hold spaghetti should be a pretty good fit.

I use mine to hold tea towels, which I still need to Kondo as I tend to use the same ones and leave most on the shelves. Kitchen roll fits really nicely as well, and gets it off the counter. I also turned the upper ones into a spice rack, looks quite nice with all the spices lined up.

Two bin bags of kitchen things we don't use bagged up ready for CS. It freed up enough space in the kitchen to move all the smaller household items out of the broom closet which means I don't have to lug out the vacuum every time I want a battery, since it's a narrow but deep cupboard so I had two rows of stuff.

I'm undecided about some appliances that don't get much use. Namely my Kitchenaid mixer (I think I already mentioned I no longer bake, so it never gets used) and my sewing machine. I HATE sewing by hand so it does bring me joy when I do need to hem something, but it's probably only been used 5 times in as many years. So is it worth storing for those occasions? And the Kitchenaid, the main reason I hold on to it was how expensive it was. I did get it on deep discount but if I regretted it and wanted to replace it, doubt I'd find such a good deal again!

Could you try looking on eBay to see how much you could buy a kitchen aid for, then sell yours at that price (buy it now) so that you know you wouldn't lose out if you did decide you want one back in your life (though it sounds unlikely based on what you've said)?

Well I managed to do nearly everything on my 'to do list' apart from cleaning the windows (it snowed here in Cumbria today so there wasn't much point). The studying went well this evening too. I set the tomato timer for 25 minutes but carried on for another 25 minutes as I got caught up in the material-it's fascinating.

I also Kondoed DGD's play room and sorted out the remaining 'stuff' in the main bedroom. I now have two LARGE toys and a small bag of things for the charity shop tomorrow. I went in there last week and discovered most of my house in there; it was a bit surreal!

So I'm feeling a bit pleased tonight. I hope that this continues.

I've read quite a few of the posts, including the Mammoth (it's been subdued since my teenage years! :j) and all 3 procrastination ones - much to the delight of my Instant Gratification Monkey, who thought I would be doing more kondoing. (He didn't get a power boost - I tricked him: I had no intention of kondoing anyway! :rotfl:)
